They are not pure platformers but I recommend Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure and Astro Boy Omega Factor. Both are great, but more action oriented. I remember liking Crash Bandicoot games on gba, they may appeal to you more.

2D or 3D-esque? I am particularly a fan of Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, it's short but pretty fun 3Dish platformer.

For 2D I always recommend giving a look at Mario Advance 4 eReader levels if you haven't already.
There is also a fantranslation of the first Starfy.
And for puzzle platformers there are the Klonoa games, they can get a bit tedious but I like then in short bursts.

And if everything fails one can always just replay Wario Land 4, my favorite gba game.

Both genres are ok! I actually love a lot of 3d haha.
Wario Land is definitely one my replay list once I complete my deep dive!

Guys I’ll be sure to create a masterlist if there’s a lot of recs :0
Also Gameboy/Gameboy color recs are welcome too!!

Mega Man World games.
Those are terrible. Easily the worst Megaman games I’ve ever played. I genuinely pray the colorization hacks fixed some issues such as the lag and other stuff I’ve had as they made the games borderline unplayable.

Eh, I don't think it's that big of a problem as you're making it out to be, but sure.

The Klonoa games on the gba played them and they’re just chill.

Other than what's already mentioned, then there's
-Mario vs Donkey Kong
-Sonic Advance series
-Kirby games (if you like to chill)
-Megaman Zero series
-Drill Dozer
-Super Ghouls N Goblins

I think it’s worth noting my emulator (at the time) was really… buggy. Weird audio glitches that I checked wasn’t on original hasrdware and other quirks. I was recommended not to use it so some of the blame might fall on me.

I played almost all of these and they’re fantastic. Last two I haven’t tried.

For Super Ghouls N Goblins, it is one of the hardest game so be careful with it

I know the series is hard. I loved the NES and SNES games but I need to play more. The PSP remake and ps4 game both look fun.

Yeah it was, PSP one was probably easier especially with saves

A while ago I only had a cell phone to play so the Celeste port was a good experience
I didn’t even that was a thing what the heck now I gotta try it xd

Densetsu no Stafy. Only the first game on GBA has a fan translation.
Metalgun Slinger. Japanese only.

Would definitely recommend Astro Boy: Omega Factor, Konami Krazy Racers (better than Mario kart Advance IMO), Gunstar Super Heroes, Ninja Five-0, Double Dragon Advance, either Kirby GBA game, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Those are just a few off the top of my head, but GBA is flush with fantastic
games.

**I know Konami Krazy Racers isn't a platformer, but I figured Id take the chance to recommend it.

def no harm in doin so! Looks fascinating either way!

I intervene despite the well-founded risk of being unfairly ignored. ??‍♂️ Anyway I recommend the Tak series, cute titles that are unfairly underrated.

I remember playing a GBA game based on Franklin (the little turtle guy? I guess it's a kid's show) that was surprisingly good, really nice sprites and the gameplay involved light puzzle platforming. I think there are two Franklin games, so I'm not sure which is which.
