Title might generalize a bit, but I wasn't sure how else to phrase it. I noticed there seems to be quite a few games where the general consensus is that they suck... but do you agree with that? What are some games you enjoyed that the majority seems to dislike? Old or new, anything goes.

I'll go first! I actually enjoyed Silent hill 4 when I first played it after finishing 1 and 2, and was really surprised to find out it's one of the most disliked in the series. Granted, I didn't like it as much as the others I've played, but to call it bad? I definitely wouldn't.

Special shout out to this creature, used to terrify me as a kid lmao

Was confused there because I thought we already had this topic but I think we don’t.
My gaming tastes are surprisingly mainstream so I’ll be picky with my picks.

Crash Wrath of Cortex. Idk. I just like it.

Shadow the hedgehog is honestly kinda cool.

I actually enjoyed Megaman x8 more than your average person would.

The Zelda CDi games deserve a re release.

Fuse for the PS3 very unpopular game but I rather enjoyed it.

There was a bit of a spiritual successor to them called: Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore

You ever check out the fan remasters? They're supposedly pretty good!

As for the topic... hm, I like a lot of games that sold bad or aren't well known, but ones that are actively disliked...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think people are none too fond of the Lords of Shadow games, right?
If so, that'd be my pick - loved the first, felt like a Guillermo Del Toro character action game. The second was much worse, but still had some great art design.

I’m sure they are, but they haven’t remastered the one that’s actually buggering interesting — Zelda’s Adventure! I’d kill for a re-release of that with the original FMV graphics intact.

We have one that's the complete opposite.

Anyway... Daikatana 64.

It's pretty awful, but I love the fact that it even got made, given the context of the whole game.

Ah man I always forget that game even exists! The other two and their Youtube Poop legacy always overshadowed it.

I remember someone was working on an enhanced GB version of that at least! Not sure if that was ever finished and it would of course lack the FMVs, but still.

Superfly would be proud.

Did John Romero make you his bitch?

Even the ad campaign for that game was messed up :)
Indeed it was.

But you know what? I would LOVE to see an alternative timeline when they stick with the Quake I engine, hit the Christmas season of 1997, and let the game be judged as it was originally meant to be. I doubt it would have become the next best thing, but I can almost guarantee that it would be talked about as a vastly, unjustly overlooked classic the same way many innovative games have since the dawn of the Abandonware era.

It does seem like the universe was out to ruin that game. It had potential, it had pedigree, but it just fell over :(
I remember looking forward to it at the time. It was as 90's as the 90's could 90's, then released in 2000

wah wah :(

SILENT HILL 4 FAN???????????? I AM ONE AS WELL, for me its on par with the other ps2 games

also, of course its not everyone that hates but i feel its a very mixed game in opinions: Death Stranding. It's on my top 5 favorite games ever, i really hope Death stranding 2 lives up to the first game

Castlevania 64. In case you're currently playing a drinking game where you drink every time I mention this game, enjoy your drink.

Hmmm, I wonder if can I be more creative... oh. Wild Woody. Well, I can't say I like playing it cuz it's janky as fuck, but I like all the other aspects of it, the cutscenes, the music, the gimmicks, the surrealism, the crazy woodpecker resembling pencil protagonist... I wish this game received the CD-i Zelda remaster treatment.

No, it's Mega Man 8 but actually good.
LOL I think would be a fair substitute for MM8 if Mega Man himself wasn't so terribly nerfed compared to his MM&B counterpart (not that I really care, I only play as Bass).

I guess it's more misunderstood than hated? I'm not really a Zelda guy, though.
It seems like in recent years, people have softened up on it and given it more of a chance. It used to be a "get chased on the playground if you said you like it" kind of thing where I went to school.
