We all know that Games can have minor to even Major differences depending on the System you buy them on especially older Games like in the Ps3 and Xbox360 Era.
So what Games you regret that you have bought for the Inferior or just wrong System for the specific Game and got a worse version of the game because of that ?.
So what Game would you know with better knowledge buy for a different system than the system you currently have it on.

Bloodstained on switch, it's a really good metroidvania but fuck me the switch port run bad and looks worse. Funny thing i bought for 14 euros when on the playstation store is usually on 9 euros

I think there are a handful of multi-platform games that I initially bought on PS3, that I would rather have on 360 nowadays. Just because they are backwards compatible on Xbox and have improved loading times and performance.

For me it would be Skyrim for the Ps3 twice I know its just I bought the Basegame and later again with all the DLC included. And I only learned later on that it is the worst way to play Skyrim::sailor-embarrassedbut I did buy it again for the Ps4 afterwards.

I've lost count of how many times I bought Skyrim... ::sailor-embarrassed

I bought PC version of Splinter Cell Double Agent because I loved PS2 version so much but back then I didn't have PS2 anymore, no one told me its PC version would be so different and back then Steam had no refund feature. I mean games being different on different platforms was a popular thing back then but that difference is just wow lol.

I bought it for My PC for the Ps3 twice and once for the Ps4 so about 4 Times
1. Base 360 version back in the day
2. Base PS3 version after my 360 died and I got a PS3
3. PS3 GOTY with all DLC
4. PS4 GOTY with all DLC
5. PC version through GOG
6. PS4 GOTY with all DLC + some other stuff and the PS5 upgrade

I think six times for me ::nervous-prinny ::cirnoshrug::sailor-embarrassed::dkfacepalm

I also loved the Splinter Cell version on the Ps2 I even still have it ;)

I had to play Wanted: Dead on my old PS4 because my PC would not be able to handle it. I figured that optimization will be better on Playstation and it probably was, but I can't check. It ran okay for the most part, with some frame drops of course but no big deal. Also my poor PS4 sounded like a jet plane and I could hear it even through my headphones. :loldog

Yeah this happened to me all the time as a kid. I'd get a game thinking it was for Mac and Windows and it was just for Windows. lol My family had a Mac. IBM too, ugh.
To many PC games I bought as a kid that I never got running on my PC and especially not on my Modern (Now Outdated) Pc.

kinda similar? my big cousin had counter strike on the og xbox and i tried putting it in my xbox one and was so dissapointed it didn't work

in my case it was Spider-Man: Web of Shadows: Amazing Allies Edition for PS2 which was very disappointing for being a completely 2.5D game with respect to the other versions of the game (Although the DS version is 2.5D too and Non-Linear) because the PS2 version playably it was monotonous and repetitive, graphically it was below the standards of PS2 of 2008, the music was boring and the game was very short and linear and that only had 10 stages and with the passing From time I learned that this version was actually a port based on the PSP version that in itself that version is disappointing too.

I'm in the same boat. That said, you should probably pop it into your Switch and update it. Apparently a little while back they dropped an update that finally fixed all of the issues it had. Loads faster now, too.

Are the games played through a translation layer like Wine?
Nope. These are all native on Windows. I found websites from the original creator for Power Pete, Boom was remade from the ground up by a fan and it even has 2 player mode like the original, Monkey Shines was ported to Java by a fan which needs Java to run, Loony Labyrinth i had to search Internet Archive for a working copy compatible with Windows 10/11 because if you go to the Littlewing website, it hasn't been sold there for years and the demo for it is timed. So Internet Archive had the full version and no registration code required. Frankenstein was on there too. I was able to install that from the setup and it plays great. It boots up DOSBox as soon as you open the game. No need to set anything up. The rest of them came straight from GOG.
