I am a long running fan of B-Movies, and that sentiment does extend into the world of gaming. Games like Broken Helix* and Steel Harbinger* on the PS1 are gems in this respect.

I do know of others but since I can't play all the games, I am always looking for more. Please feel free to discuss and recommend more games with that campy B-Movie wonderfulness for me, and for anyone who also enjoys Bad/Good games.

* I usually add Repo links to games I mention by name but currently the Repo only has the PSP Eboot version of these games :(

Illbleed for Dreamcast xD a highly-flawed but undeniably unique survival horror experience. b-movie oriented by literal purpose n intent which is apparent from the jump when playing... but frustrating that some of its badass ideas are marred by other questionable design choices or halfassery execution issues but just like with a lot of quirky games on Sega consoles or from Sega themselves - I'd much rather they exist than didn't. hope it's what you're lookin for n if another one occurs to me I'll holler a rec' @ cha

I haven't played either, but both Countdown Vampires and Killing Time just seem to nail that vibe.

Killing Time looks dreadful, I cant wait to try it. should I play the PS1 or 3DO version?

Already in the collection, excellent taste! :)

I heard early Resident Evil games have a B-Movie vibe.

You are correct! not sure how much of it is on purpose though ;)

Disaster Report and Earth Defense Force are the first to come to mind.

I am aware of EDF but Disaster Report is new to me. I will give Raw Danger a try since Disaster Report is the sequel.

The first entries of Twisted Metal and Resident Evil has a kinda b-movie vibe to me.

Agreed!

I need some help tracking this one down. Can i get another hint?

The Evil Dead games, obviously.

Obviously! :)

this is uhm... probably reachin a bit here, n also reachin back a bit further into nigh-ancient retro but Kemco-Seika's erm... 'trilogy' of 1P-Adventure games (Shadowgate, Deja Vu, The Uninvited) come to mind though might not even be applicable to qualify takin after b-movie hallmarks (as there is no voice-actor work, no significant representation of camp elements, no Sid Haig) [all 3 offenses punishable by unspoken fundamental cosmic law] but those n I guess archaic 80's computer text-adventures... have some form of a b-movie spirit located in their framework? =P like I said... reaching for straws here hehe

Man almost anything in the FMV heavy era has that vibe. But for me the gameplay can contribute to that.

they don't have to have voiceover, or specific campy themes. The B-Movie feel is about having the quirks and quibbles that set them aside from the AAA (aka boring) experience. The first Evil Dead wasn't trying to be the campfest it ended up being. If it were made more "professionally" it would not have gained the fame it did.
Shadowgate is an awesome pick!

Deadly Premonition and Night Trap come quickly to mind.

Edit: Also, Phantasmagoria!

Edit 2: And, Harvester!

yes, yes
yes
and yes
:)

Great pick! Already in my collection. :)

Very true, and many of them have been called out by name already. I am actually looking for the less obvious games, and hopefully introduce others to them. :)

Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller. The devs were so full of themselves they had a novelization made. I happen to own both. Time Commando for PS1. The Thing. It just got a remaster this month as well. Darkseed I and IIas well. Both use H.R. Giger's artwork in super weird ways.

Deadly premonition is absolutely what you’re looking for.

You and @vitad00d think alike. I looked it up... oh yea it fits!

So many prime choices here. Time Commando looks hilariously bad. Trying that one for sure :)

Mad Dog McCree is notoriously horrible. In hindsight, I would have LOVED having a 3DO back in the day.

Came to say Disaster Report and Raw Danger!, but they've been mentioned so I'll just, "yeah, what they said!"

Your thoughts matter here! Now with 2 recommendations, I will give them a try for sure.

Michigan: Report From Hell. Made by Grasshopper (No More Heroes and Killer 7). It's so stupid it loops back around to being fantastic.
