Games that you couldn't appreciate until you played on original hardware.

I've hated Super Mario Bros. 3 since I first played it on virtual console when I was like 6, no matter how many times I tried it I never understood the appeal. I never liked the art style, I hated the physics, and I found the level design cruel. Until recently when I played the game on original hardware for the first time and suddenly it was finally enjoyable, pretty much everything I disliked about it suddenly felt so much more fun and charming. Does anyone else here have similar experiences?
the problem is Virtual console, anytime i use nintendos VC crap the color look faded and dull, not bright colorful.
i had kirby superstar, it looks horrible on Wii VC, kirby looks dark pink, white flashes are entirely grey, mario bros NES looks worse than real hardware. the blue backgrounds are greyish
paper mario i had to play on VC cause no matter what on PC it emulates terribly (either glitchy graphics, sound issues, or lag spikes)the emulation used on VC is actually pretty good though, i can't complain on that.

but anyways, a a couple DS and 3DS games play better with real hardware
DS: world ends with you, i could NOT play this on PC with a mouse, maybe a touch sceen would make it work but i preferred that on DS, but also on Android it plays well enough (but massively tweaked game on Android, easier in many ways but better video and sound quality)
puzzle quest 1 DS was my best way to play that, i didn't like it on pc or console, much quicker and simple with touch screen.
elite beat agents can't be played with a mouse, unless you're crazy good at using a mouse on rhythm games

3DS: kid Icarus is HEAVILY designed to be played with touch screen, and holy hell i'm LEFT handed i had to force myself into right hand mode for that game. it can't be played like "dual analog", to explain how it works on emulation with mouse, imagine if you're playing an fps and to aim you had to click and hold everytime.
also basically all the 3d stereoscopic stuff, the games that stand out to me are kid icarus (easily best looking 3DS game) mario kart 7, and bravely default/second
also puzzle and dragons, same reason as puzzle quest above, but you have to move pieces quickly (unlike typical match3, you can move the piece all over the board, within like 3 seconds you can move around a LOT)

virtual boy is an experience, yeah you can play it emulation without the 3d effect, but it was so cool back then when i used a real one

for me Donkey Kong Country 1..3 chapters should be played on hardware and CRT;
too much pixelated on emulators and new tv's

mario paint on the snes is the best i havent really had the heart to get stuck into the switch properly.
