Games that shaped who you are today?

I wanna hear about how the games you've experienced during your life have affected you and changed who you are as a person, it could be from your childhood or even recently, even shows too, I'm just curious to see how the medium has moved people in different ways.

Terraria and The Legend of Dark Witch. Taught me the good and the bad on how to handle a community, and the developnment of an indie game. I also met some incredible people down at both sides: Due to Terraria having a popular mod loader called tModLoader, I am able to find some fantastic people from a mod that adds Metroid content to the game, and for Dark Witch, certian memebrs from the community when they moved on told me about Backloggd, the site that I catalog, and review the games I played on, which had it's own set of people that I like.

The Legend of Dark Witch had gotten me to GBATemp due to difficult ways to get the second game through other means other than to mod it so I modded it through the help of the official guide and them, and because of GBATemp, I had found RetroGameTalk.

These games basically changed my life when I was a teenager and are the reason why I love video games as a narrative medium.

Idk there's a lot I could write. I'll stick to something simple by saying that Final Fantasy made my brain go brrrrrrrrrrr.

Metal Gear Solid taught me that my Genes don't matter because I still sucks anyhow.
Jak & Daxter taught me it's good to be Edgy sometimes.
Pokemon Blue taught me RPGs are cool and that Shin Megami Tensei is better.
Grand Theft Auto taught me it's good being Edgy sometimes.
Dark Souls 2 taught me videogames are for Low IQ knuckle-draggers that will defend anything.
Resident Evil 4 taught me to appreciate the firepower of the humble Mauser C96 pistol.
Shadow of the Colossus taught me that most videogames are better w/out trash mobs everywhere.
Bloodborne taught me... well nothing, but I really dig its aesthetics and lore.
Middens taught me that a dumb Yume Nikki clone can actually be somewhat fun.
Touhou taught me to be constantly horny over anime girls 24/7.
Killer7 taught me what I already knew: 6th gen was and still is the best gen.
Hogs of War taught me that videogames improve drastically the moment you add racism to them.
Tomba taught me videogames improve drastically whenever devs are on drugs.
Solatorobo taught me humans and furries will never be able to coexist peacefully, ever.
Metal Gear Rising taught me that Memes are the DNA of the soul (?).
Bayonetta taught me how to be straight, when the occasion deems it necessary.
Tekken taught me a hard lesson: I suck at fighting games.
Metal Slug taught me to Git Gud, but to no avail.
Castlevania SoTN taught me to try older games, they're miles better than newer ones.

Metal Gear Solid taught me that my Genes don't matter because I still sucks anyhow.

What if all video games were secretly racist
Tomba taught me videogames improve drastically whenever devs are on drugs.
I would really prefer if you’d be quiet… but yes you are correct.
Bayonetta taught me how to be straight, when the occasion deems it necessary.
Real
Tekken taught me a hard lesson: I suck at fighting games.
And you will never git gud ; )
Metal Slug taught me to Git Gud, but to no avail.
It takes practice. Still working on my furs 1CC though.
Castlevania SoTN taught me to try older games, they're miles better than newer ones.
Honestly it’s still better than most modern Metroidvanias, well the JP ones rock.

And you will never git gud ; )
Okay no need to be mean now, I don't even really like fighting games that much tbh, but I may be willing to sacrifice a piece of my soul to Git Gud @ Shmup/Danmaku games, which I actually like. I wish I could play Crimzon Clover World Ignition (AKA Peak Shmup) as if I knew what I was doing.

Trust me. It was directed at me.
