Many games would benefit from modern technology cuz it seems innovative ideas are just dead at this point like games can't come up with something so instead of letting this technology on mediocre or meh games instead use it to bring old games to modern audiences and people who never experienced them the titles that would benefit from this would be NES/SNES and PS1 era games.
For me i want a remake of Final Fantasy 2 so badly it's a game that had an ambitious idea and an ambitious story but it fell off due to technical limits and outdated game design , what you end up with is a product that feels underwhelming.
Thus FF2 is already lookee down upon so there is nearly no risk in changing the game or remaking it cuz who the hell likes FF2? expanding the story and bringing a 3d dark fantasy artsryle adding a lot more world building , i have plenty of ideas of how to remake the game but I'm not paid by square to give them ideas for free , it's a win win thing but seeing how unpopular the game is might be a reason why square won't remake it.
Honesty all 6 final fantasy games from 1-6 could use a remake in 3d environments i find it silly you have dissidia that looks like that with full voice acting and all and 6 heroes and 6 villains out of the game come from a NES/SNES era that looks like shit (besides FF6 it holds up) and lacks voice acting.... Also i find it outrageous they make a prequel to FF1 and the supposed prequel leads to a game that looks WAY WAY worse than the prequel one is 3d and the other is 2d feels weird.... From a business prespective i think square can reignite the FF franchise by going back to these old games and remaking them 3/4 don't really require a remake but won't be mad if they do with less cutesy artstyle and more realistic one damn that be dope.
Its a good way to capitalize on remakes cuz it's the remake era now and square knows it , you can keep the classic battle system as it will draw old fans and might intrigue newcomers.
Not necessary but a silent hill 1 remake would be dope.
Problem with remakes is you take a game turn it into something else that deviate from the original release a remaster takes the game keeps the core mechanics slaps a new coat of paint adds few quality of life features and calls it a day.
Remakes require much more investment so It can be risky not to mention gamers can be really close minded when it comes to changing stuff.
I want a red alert 2 remaster along with a tiberium sun remaster AND a generals remaster.
Yeah this is pretty much it i just wanna ride magitek armor in 4k high resolution graphics before i die
