What games do you think could work well with the dual screen/touch screen? I just remembered the canceled port of The Silver Case for the DS and how Grasshopper Manufacture didn't know how to make use of those features. What a shame.

Anyways, I think the Danganronpa series could make a smooth transition to those systems, after all there are many VNs in the DS/3DS library already.
Stardew Valley could also work very well, with the top screen as the main screen and the bottom screen as the map/inventory/settings screen.

Don't worry about the performance, as long as the game works on a concept level it's fine.

Card based games? Slay the Spire would work great on DS/3DS, bottom screen for card management and top for enemies and general combat information
I now realise that as I mentioned it, DS has a homebrew version of Balatro that worked great

I really liked how Chrono Trigger showed all the data on the lower screen, so I definitely think more old school RPGs could have been on there and maybe take advantage of that.

I also always kind of wanted Diablo to be playable on 3DS even though I knew it would never happen.

Fallout. Just having the Pip-Boy out at all times would be a game changer.

Diablo 1 and 2 definitely could have been, back in the DS boom. However Blizzard was very PC-focused for a good decade or so after Starcraft Ghost got canceled.

I think Castlevania: Symphony of the Night could work really well on the Nintendo DS/3DS, especially if it's in the style of the NDS Castlevanias, you could see Dracula's Castle on the lower screen which I think would be very useful so you don't get lost or something.

There's a Diablo clone called Dungeon Explorer on the DS, which is the closest thing to an actual Diablo game on the system, so I can definitely see Diablo running on a DS/3DS

Yep, Fallout could have been a nice addition to the DS library.

Solatorobo comes to mind. It could definitely have made use of the extra horsepower of the 3DS in the form of a remake and/or sequels.
you remember me that I made a mock-up about Solatorobo if was a Gamecube game co-developed by CyberConnect2, Monolith Soft and Tri-Crescendo and published by Nintendo(like Baten Kaitos Origins, Namco got lazy to publish the game despite being the owner)

just imagine Solatorobo with Xenosaga 3 graphics-like...

what a waste of port, DQ8 shows that 3DS could have a better MGS3 port than we got
I still enjoy Snake Eater 3D, but it clearly was not made for handheld. The framerate chugs, the cutscenes are too long, and the directional buttons are a poor substitute for analog camera control (though you CAN fix that with the circle pad pro). The one cool new feature they added on 3DS was using the camera to create camo.
