Always a paradigm thing to do, much like with the use of cell phones though not as egregious. (word vomit for another day)
What are some examples you like of games being present in other media? It could be an actual existing game like South Park and WoW, or a fake one like that one guy who looked like my old roommate in Grandma's Boy made. What are examples that you don't like? Maybe they represent the medium poorly. Like how sometimes they'll be "playing" but the controller is upside down, always a classic. Or it could even be things made from games. I've yet to expose myself to most of the big hitters, but speaking of big hitters I would fight Uwe Boll for his bullshit. Spill

Ohhh, this instantly remembered me Charlie's Angels co-op FFVIII gameplay lol:

Oh that's another good one, the beeps and boops that have nothing to do with what's happening

The Charlie Angel's CO-OP FFVIII has been living rent free in my head for years!

The last time I saw video games in some other media in Black Mirror. The episode where a man gets obsessed over taking care of "the Throng". That's also the first time I see Atari Jaguar appear on television in any way.
There weren't any big gaming sins to my knowledge, the fact that a dead body hadn't decomposed after 35 years was weirder to me than the killer AI disguised as a game.

way way back when i was a wee lad, i remember this weird tv show i watched where a new kid moves into a neighborhood and is super weird. he eats crab apples and the only video game system he had was an atari. turns out the kid was an alien trying to fit in. I think it was a show on discovery kids back in the late 90s or early 2000s. for some reason, the atari bit always stuck out to me (not the crab apples, i had a crab apple tree in my yard so didnt consider that weird)

Love the iconic mini-arc in Breaking Bad of Jessie Pinkman lowkey being a sonic fanboy. Whenever the script called for Jessie to be playing a videogame during a scene, the production crew always got a Sonic game. And not even the same one, I swear over the course of the series he's playing Sa2 Battle, 06, a sonic racing game, it's crazy, always love seeing those scenes on a rewatch.

You had a crab apple tree in your yard? Kinda sus

In the movie Beethoven they are playing Mario 3, but for some reason both kids are using a controller. That's not how Mario co-op worked yet!

One of the episodes of Six Feet Under really has a very funny PlayStation 2 and Gran Turismo situation as it's a very odd advertisement in a TV series in a negative way.

Long story short, a guy buys PS2 and Gran Turismo for kids. And then in another scene we see the kids opened the PS2 inside out because "the game is broken" or something that BS. Without actually clearly saying so this is a great way to make fun of Gran Turismo's nonsense persistence of forcing players to earn licenses otherwise the game seems broken due to how unplayable it's without license lol.

If you wanna watch it I exactly remember which episode it was because still to this day me and my homies make fun of that scene a lot so much it became an inside joke lol: Season 5 Episode 6.

So the advertisement make it seem like PS2 is so bad kids really hate PS2 enough to destroy it. I have no idea why $ony even allowed it lol.
