Gamers Less Inclined To Spend More

Triple AAA games on PC now are trying to push Windows 11, latest processors, gpu's and ram and also large SSD drives.

No wonder players can't keep up.

That's been the case forever. I think what changed is new gaming hardware became less affordable. Also, living costs have risen in many (most?) countries.

It matters that with advent of 4k, disk size in aaa games on PC skyrocketed to 100-200gb and on top of that they require ssd drives for best performance, which are not cheap either. HDD drives were more affordable and allowed more free space, while with ssd you see 3/4th of space occupied by 3-4 games, in case of 1 tb drive.

Im new to steam im happy picking up random deals on games that have been reviewed by the community or what i see on youtube people do reviews of sale games. Another reason is 100gb plus for games stored nah i dont think so.

I think there is a big PC / Console divide here.

PC gamers are far lees likey to spend that sort of money. where as console gamers are far more likey to.

I dont have a lot of time these days (work/family/kids) so I'm content working through my large backlog and almost never buy any new games.

Not that Ive bought a new game since 2020. I pay for PS+ premium and just play whats on the catalouge which is more than I can get round to playing
