Thought this was a fairly interesting article. Basically says that most steam users are hesitant to spend over 25 dollars on a game and tend to favor cheaper indie alternatives

TBH, I've always been this way. Most Triple A games have very rarely interested me and usually more interesting stuff seems to be happening in the indie scene
 
It’s the main reason why indie games thrive nowadays, gamers tend to spend less on AAA titles on the reason that those were too bloated and DLC reliant.
