So my mom is 67 years old and has been recovering from a surgery. She loves playing 8 Ball Pool on her tablet and recently lent her my Anbernic RG 406 V so she could play Peggle, Tetris, Pacman, and Space Invaders. She loves those games, and now she wants an Anbernic of her own.

I wanted some ideas as to games she might enjoy. She has a very hard time moving a character from screen to screen (having her play Kirby's Dreamland was a disaster).
So games that largely take place on one screen would be appreciated.

Try Robotron 64.

It is the port of an arcade classic that's really addicting and fun to play while respecting your single screen request.

Oh, also try Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber! for much of the same reasons.

Unironically Candy Crush.

Though any games that basically Tetris as long as she can keep up with should be fine for her.

Harvest Moon series? Tile Matching or Puzzle Bobble games? Digimon Card Battle?

If she uses a tablet with Google Play, she could try the free-to-play "Gems of War", basically you link three or four gems of the same colour or three skulls, and it means charging your cards (with colours), making damage to enemies (with skulls), and cast magic with your cards when their mana is full. Your troops and enemies are cards on the side of the screen, and everything takes place on one screen; there are lots of modes, most of them single player apart from pvp, but they're not against real player in real time, and for every move you can take your time.
We're playing it on Switch so I can't say anything about ads on the app, but you basically have no daily limits even you choose to go for free, we spent almost a year on it without buying anything.

Best wishes to your Mom for her recovery!!!

Had more or less the same situation with my own mother. Bejeweled was the only thing that I found to stick with her besides Solitaire.

If she's really into single-screen experiences, there is a whole slew of different puzzle games out there that she would have a whale of a time with.

Someone has already mentioned Columns, but you should also try out Tetris Attack, Puyo Puyo, Puzzle Quest, and Klax.

Has she also considered checking out some adventure games? Old school ones like PC point and clicks do require you to move around a bit, but there's the possibility of games like Phoenix Wright, where you're mostly just picking from menus rather than having to physically control the character and where they're going.

Finally, there's also a bunch of arcade titles that are just based around accomplishing simple tasks on a single screen. Have her try out Tempest 2000, Tetris 3D, Galaxian, Galaga, Missile Command, Arkanoid, etc. The list is practically never-ending.
