Game endings that made you cry really hard

Metal slug 3 is an odd pick but whenever I finish this game I think “Damn they made one of the most fun trilogy of games in history”.

Super Mario galaxy 2 is another one that just never fails to make me sad when it ends because in my personal opinion it’s the best game ever made, and when you finish the best game ever made you can only ask for more.

And I’d also pick Wind Waker as an excellent end to the entire Zelda franchise, if it had to end somewhere I think this would be the best way to end it.

Good game design makes me shed more tears than a sob story.

I’d like to also mention about something that can easily get ignored but end credit are more powerful than most people might think, if you have the chance to end your game with an amazing song and interesting credit visual reminiscing on your journey you might bias the player into thinking “This game was actually amazing”

Also shoutout to Mario galaxy 1 for having a better credit theme than 2.

I too, like someone before me, will name some Visual Novels, especially the "progenitors" of the genre:
1)  Narcissu, surprisingly available in three different translations, a tragic ending to say the least, which contains 3 or 4 truly poignant and memorable bgms;
2)  Air and  Kanon, from the legendary Key software house, tearful especially regarding some routes;
3)  Kana Little Sister (Kana Okaeri) and Family Project, both part of the legendary g-collection by Jast USA; the first moving from start to finish, the second depending on the route chosen;
4)  Planetarian, already mentioned by others, whose major flaw is that it is too short.

Yours truly ?

Not cry per se, but the ending of pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky had me tearing up as a kid.

As an Adult the game endings that got the strongest emotional response from me where Final Fantasy 15 and Lost Sphear

and kinda off topic Chrono Cross got me all warm and fuzzy inside at the end, that ending was so beautiful
