Gain Ground fans?

I just think that game is super overlooked and brilliant. Would love a sequel or something. Any of you guys have memories of it. My brothers and I played the hell out of it.

I've played a little bit of it, just enough to note that it's a cool game but not enough to actually become good at it, heh. It is weird that no sequel ever happened, the closest we got is the remake in the AGES 2500 collection on Japanese PS2. I wonder if there are spiritual sequels done by other people?

I hadn't grown up with it, but first played it on one of those Genesis compilation releases and it quickly became one of my favorites in the set. I always liked the large number of characters and the fact that Hard difficulty gives you access to all of them from the start. It adds a layer of strategy choosing to either risk a strong character on a harder screen or try to wing it with a more expendable weaker unit.

That's how I played it as well. Specifically, "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" on 360.

I didn't dare telling people because I thought most disliked its slower pace (next to a faster Ikari Warrior) yet I loved the game's ambience.

I wish we got more of that "strategic top down shooting" kind of game.
