I've read that FFVI (any version) has problems running on the FXPak Pro, and that there is a way to fix this: disable in-game hooks. I have disabled them, but I still run into the same problem. I have also disabled save states and still get the same thing. I am playing the device on an original PAL Super Nintendo on a Sony Bravia LCD 2005 model. This is the only game I am having problems with.

What version (i.e. v.1.1.1) of FXPak Pro should I have?
What should I disable from the configuration?
What should I enable from the configuration?
Does the file being .smc or .sfc make a difference?
