I was playing Dino Crisis 2 recently and I find it hilarious how there is a hidden two-player fighting mode. Here's this action shooter with survival horror aesthetics and it just happens to have a fighting game in it.

It's obviously just a fun joke mode, I mean, we're not gonna be seeing this at EVO or anything, but it just shows that the devs were putting their skills into making something fun and having a blast while doing it.
Any other instances of games having funny or bizarre hidden/extra modes in them? Post 'em, discuss, etc.

The PS2 era Mortal Kombat games had a few minigames that switched up the genre a bit there was a cart racing minigame in one of them and another had chess and some kinda Tetris clone with Mortal Kombat characters.

Motor Kombat is one of those extra modes that in my opinion ended up being more fun than the actual game. Those were some rough years for MK.

A full on classic for some folks, and unknown for many (I certainly didn’t know about it) was the Daytona horse.

This lovely little unlockable is a fully playable horse instead of a car. It’s super goofy, fun, and can even take shortcuts since it does not lose speed over grass (not a feature exclusive to horse, but it makes more sense with the horse).

I guess Sonic and the Secret Rings Party Mode, I would say the battle mode in DragonBall Advance Adventure but that mode is actually good.

The Atari Lynx' Battlezone 2000 is a totally cromulent port of Battlezone with some nice improvements and additions.

The real Battlezone 2000 on Lynx is a secret unfinished game mode, with something like 2000 selectable levels on a map, 3d graphics, customizable tanks, etc.

The secret game mode was the original Battlezone 2000, until it was decided that it was too complicated and scrapped in favor of a more straightforward Battlezone port.

I've always thought that the idea of having the original game as an unlockable in a sequel/reboot was super rad. It's not quite an unlockable but I remember a version of Ridge Racer Type 4 coming with a disc with an older ridge racer game running at 60fps. Can't quite remember if it was the first one or Revolution.
The newer Doom games also have original levels as secrets.

Who would win 🤔
I guess the real question would be...
"How do they taste?"

I'm not sure how well it was hidden, but Manx TT on Saturn had a sheep you could ride instead of a motorcycle.

The one I was gonna say was Fantasy Zone being hidden in Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf on Genesis.

You can "fight" as the Daytona Car in Saturn's Fighting Megamix.

There actually is a hidden game mode for that game! Let me look it up real fast.

Scroll to the bottom. It’s a JP exclusive feature, but you can unlock a little tile matching game! Cute little Easter egg!

"Heaven or Hell" mode in Devil May Cry 3 onwards. You and enemies, including bosses die in one hit. From anything!

Then "Hell and Hell" where it's normal "Son of Sparda" difficulty except you die in one hit.
