I am not familiar with Adventure time, so i am sure that others will have more to say on this. But is this comparable to Full Metal Alchemist in any way?

I ask as a fan did this video, which has now made me a little interested in Adventure time.

If you never mentioned Adventure Time, I wouldn't have googled it and remembered that I did watch a couple of episodes in passing; frankly, they are dissimilar as BLEACH is to One Piece

Adventure Time was basically a fantasy world, with "cute" eldritch abominations, from what little I gleaned from it. Think "Shrek" world without the zany antics

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (sadly, the first anime was a neutered show compared to the manga and Brotherhood) was basically Jurassic Park on crack; the world had all the right stuff to become like ours (tech-based) if not for the "Jurassic Park" which is Alchemy

"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should"
- Ian Malcolm

Replace "scientists" with "alchemists" and then you get FMAB

Adventure Time is great. If you're going to watch it, watch it from the 3rd season on. The first two seasons are really more oriented towards younger kids. If you feel like you need to watch them, you can.

Both Adventure Time and FMA are gold but they're not really comparable, as the above poster mentioned. Adventure Time is set in its own universe while FMA is much more similar to our world. The shrek comment the above poster gave is liable to give you an inaccurate asessment of the vibe of the show.

Thanks for the response guys.

The reason i asked for the comparison with Adventure time, because of the fan made Adventure time animation marrying up with FMA B ending 1.

Since they are not related, perhaps a meta the fan was just being meta?

I was very familiar with FMA both oritinal show and Brotherhood, and own both of the box sets. I love them both, with FMA being a product of it's time and from what a remember, a falling out with the original author Hiromu Arakawa who wanted to finish the manga before the show, but as usually the case, the show runners did not want that, and as a result came up with their own ending. Which in my opinion still made sense, had thoguht put in to it, and was consistent with what the story they where telling at the time.

100% FMAB is the superior show, for the simple fact that it follows the authors original vision, and story and message she wanted to tell. For me the adventure was much more fulfilling in FMAB.

Thanks for the information guys, this has convinced me to check out adventure time.
