List any First-Person Dungeon Crawlers, DRPGs, or Grid-Based RPGs you like or recommend, doesn't matter which console.

The first one I played was Demon Gaze for Vita, I enjoyed it, I didn't 100% it though. I was close, but the post-game final boss was just a chore to get to. I really didn't want to grind for rare weapons after I was so close to being done. But this made me start looking for more. It's easy to get into, not too complex, but it's story is kinda generic.

In total, I know of:

  • Etrian Odyssey
  • Wizardry
  • Demon Gaze 1/2
  • Serment - Contract with a Devil
  • Labyrinth of Refrain/Galleria
  • Savior of Sapphire Wings
  • Stranger of Sword City
  • Mary Skelter
  • Operation Abyss/Babel
  • Mon-Yu: DMAGSWAA. YMBDBDGU. BS. IBTWBADWTHDTDK. (longest game name ever?)
  • Class of Heroes
  • Gears of Dragoon
  • Unchained Blades
  • Undernauts

The genre is still quite niche, probably because of the difficulty and complexity some games can have, and I have yet to see a list of every (or close to every) game in this type of genre.

Phantasy Star 1 has some Dungeon Crawling stuff. That's probably why i could never beat it! LMAO

I'm quite new to the genre but I'll recommend the ones I've finished so far:
Legend of Grimmrock 1 and 2. Those are the modern games that introduced me to the genre. Very accessible for beginners.
Eye of the Beholder 1,2 and 3. Very old but still great PC games. You can also install the very nice auto map tool All Seeing Eye.
Dragon Knight Series (PC-98). Just finished the first one, very primitive, simple and straightforward but quite enjoyable once you get some lvls and stop dying. Be warned it's an eroge, quite light but still...
That's all I got so far ?

Already asked by another user. My answer is the same: Rance VI: Collapse of Zeth (Windows/Android).

A genre that i would like to explore more,
my recommendations are:

- Persona Q/ Persona Q 2
- The dark spire
- Etrian Odyssey

Shining in the Darkness is the only non mentioned already that i can recall

That and the Hackrom Arcana Seal of Rimsala

Eliminage is known for this style of gameplay.
The class of heroes games are also dungeon crawlers.
Shining in the darkness for the genesis and shining the holy ark for the saturn are well known.
The first 2 shin megami tensei games and i believe megami tensei, along with persona 1 were all dungeon crawler style of gameplay games to a extent.
You might want to keep a eye out for the dinosaur resurrection translation that geofront is working on, it's also a dungeon crawler.
