Your first gaming system you owned?

A Sega Mega Drive III (a revision of the Brazilian/European Genesis) bundled with Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition hand-me-down from a cousin when I was 5.

I got it with Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Mortal Kombat 3, Altered Beast and some other games I can't remember. Unfortunetly I was so young I hardly knew how to properly play it.

The first console I bought with "my money", fully knowing what a video game was, was an kiwi Nindendo 64

First game on it ?
Came with a few, but the first game I played it on it was either Sonic 2 or World of Illusion. Followed shortly by Altered Beast, Captain America & The Avengers, Justice League and Golden Axe

Technically I started gaming on a Windows 98 PC playing shareware games. But my first console that I owned was a GameCube that I saved money for an entire year to buy. My first game (and the reason I bought the console) was Super Mario Sunshine.

About a year later I bought a Nintendo DS lite (blue and black) and Spider-man Web of Shadows. Stun-locking enemies with combos was awesome in that game.

For me, it was a black Nintendo DS that was bought secondhand. It had a matching Nerf case (my parents didn’t trust me not to destroy it) and came with used copies of Transformers: War For Cybertron - Decepticon and Bakugan: Battle Brawlers.

My step-dad's Amiga 500. I still fondly remember playing games like Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Black Crypt, Captive, Elite 1 & 2, Flashback, Body Blows, Chaos Engine, Hired Guns, Monkey Island, F19, Dark Seed, Fate of Atlantis, and a bunch more. Most of them pirated, but I wasn't complaining.

Tronica Space Adventure and Donkey Kong II Game and Watch when I was 4 or so (41 now)
although these aren't the same units from when I was a kid, I still love and play them. Tho both are getting on in their years and will probably need repairs soon for one thing or another so I hope a guy I know will be able to service them for me.

My first handheld was a PSP 3000.

I played that thing to death and beyond. I remember coming home from classes in high school and playing it for hours on end every day.
I happen to love jrpgs and the PSP had plenty for me to sink many hours into them.|

Technically it was a pink ds lite on my 5th(?) birthday, but at that point I stole my brothers dsi so much it became mine lol

original DMG sometime mid 90s, i have a faint memory of me somehow 'losing' (??like i wish i had stolen it lol, seriously LOSING the thing) my older brothers gameboy? he must've been pissed. but then i got one

perhaps that was the rents pulling the ol' sly on me, and maybe my older bro did something to get punished for and they made him 'give' me his gameboy. lol funny thing to consider/only just realize now

i member having mortal kombat 1 and 2, and they were fucking hard as shit. i think i figured out way to cheese mk2 on original gameboy but i recall 1 being an absolute asshole, though admittedly i was a child

First overall console I played was a PS3 (I think).

My first personal console was the shitty AtGames SEGA Genesis Mini. I had fun with it, though.

my first console was a sega dreamcast, i got from my great uncle at the age of 10 i had 3 games i played regularly, soul caliber, crazy taxi, and shenmue without sega i wouldn’t be the gamer i am now lol

Just journaling and am curious what devices users owned first. I believe I played some version of Pac-Man: World on a couple different floppy disks (thanks Dad) but one holiday I got a SNES and Donkey Kong Country 2. I think my next game was Super Empire Strikes Back. Needless to say, I didn't beat either of those games until much later.

How about you all?
Nokia 00

A famiclone, can't remember it's name. Gotten it around 89 or 90, those with multiple "games" ingrained in the motherboard(most of those were clones of another, like various bootlegs of Mario 1).

technically a ps1 but i was too little to remember or appreciate it much. the first one i got after that was a psp with ratchet and clank: size matters when i was like 9 or 8 (i desperately wanted a ratchet and clank game at the time)
