Big thanks to uploader and one who made that hack, casual mode is saving thing, chapters 2x, 4 and 5 is quite hard. Maybe it's just me an low skill.

How good is the translation compared to Lil'Manster?
To answer my own question, this is a Japanese hack translated by its own author. They chose to make their own translation because they think that the one from Lil'Manster isn't close enough to the original script. However, as they aren't fully fluent in English they're using machine translation. So while this is a more literal translation, it can feel little a clunky and unnatural at times. And obviously all the bonus content and new dialogues are not from the original game.

All in all, for an English player Lil'Manster is a more polished experience albeit not a 1 to 1 translation of the Japanese script but it doesn't contain fanfic material, while this one is much rougher but also more faithful but it contains fanfic additions. So I'd say that New Theory of Thracia is more destined to those who are already very familiar with Thracia 776, as newcomers (or those who only payed it once a while ago) won't be able to identify what wasn't part of the base game story wise.

A Great English translation for the 5th installment of the Fire Emblem Franchise and at the same time one of the Latest Super Famicom Games.

ah yes modern casual, the only way i can enjoy fire emblem lol
i'm serious, after awakening having the casual (units don't permanent die) mode i can't enjoy any FE without it
i did casual lunatic difficulty though, i don't mind difficulty, just hate permadead units
It is not just you. There is a reason resetting after losing a single character was such a meme in the Fire Emblem community.

Should this be considered a translation, or should rather be labeled as a hack ("New Theory")?
This is what they say on the page:
"This is a FE5-based hack that is a redesign of the Gran Calendar 776 story with a new interpretation. There are some parts of the story that are different from the original FE4 and FE5, but I hope you enjoy it as a new or different story."

Edit: Maybe I got confused, or something changed in the meantime. It seems all fine to me now. :)

thanks for the upload. anyone know if this is a good way to play thracia for the first time?
Purists would disagree, but I honestly think it is. It is fairly revised and modernized in a way that is more approachable. Plus it has even harder difficulties than vanilla as optionals, too.
