I saw that there are several mods for the Steam version of Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age, and I was wondering if anyone had ever attempted to adapt those to the PS2 version. People have created a fan translation of the Japanese PS2 Zodiac Age into English, so someone must have been able to dump the game disc.

I'm out of the loop when it comes to game modding as I haven't done anything aside from some PC game modding about 15 years ago, and Romhacks with game specific Windows tools. I have heard that PS2 game modding is a nightmare and requires a lot of trial and error with editing code.

I am aware that the Steam version of Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age is a remaster of Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System and not just a PC port. It would not be as simple as just moving PC mods into a specific folder in the PS2 game, but I was curious if anyone knew anything about the possibility of exporting the files of the PS2 game in hopes that some similar mods could be created.
