What are some of your favorite videogame weapons? For me, it has to be the Doom 2 Super Shotgun:

Often duplicated, never replicated. The Super Shotgun's satisfyingly power and sounds make it one of the most gratifying FPS shotguns to this day. Watching a whole crowd of zombiemen drop to a single well placed shot is dopamine on command. Beauty in simplicity.

Regarding melee weapons, I'm a big fan of clean lines and just the right amount of decoration without detracting from function. I'm a firm believer that function is attractive.

The Yamato

The Dragon Sword

And the Dark Souls/Elden Ring Claymore

Of course it helps that each of these are fun to use too.

The marksman carbine, light machine gun, H&H Tools nail gun, Riot shotgun, Minigun, Shoulder mounted machine gun, Gauss rifle, Red Glare, Missile launcher, Proton inversal axe, Industrial hand from Fallout: New Vegas.

I knew it right away (New Vegas) as soon as I started to read Marksman Carbine (great choice btw ?)
I main either the Weathered 10, or the H&H Tools Nailgun. ?

  • Turok: The cerebral bore (gun that fires brain-seeking drills)
  • Rise of the Triad: Excalibat (baseball bat that fires deadly balls), Drunk Missiles (multiple heat seekers, but flying in a weird pattern), Dog Mode (supersonic bark, and is dog)
  • Final Fantasy IX: I know you're supposed to be afraid when the enemy chases you with a pizza cutter chainsaw, but I just laughed my head off.
  • Vampire Survivors: Gatti Amari (death by cat), Phiera Der Tuphello & Eight The Sparrow (dual-wielded multi-shot handguns), Carréllo (a carriage that runs enemies over), Victory Sword (auto-slashing sword that can hit at any distance)
  • HoloCure: BL Book (spinning book that apparently kills with its contents), Plug Type Asacoco (yes, you attack by throwing that at the enemy)
  • Zelda (BotW & TotK): The cuckoo (they can be weaponized) & Ancient Bladesaw
  • Street Fighter III: Dudley's rose and Sean's basketball are probably the funniest thing to end a match with.

Quite violent for a Nintendo game hehe.

It's overpowered but sadly only 10 ammo and they're scarce.

Speaking of which I liked the Soul Cube in Doom 3 despite how the game is received.

The Ray Splasher from Mega Man X3 (the weapon you get from Neon Tiger). It was so cool they brought it back with the Shadow Armor three games later.
Underrated weapon, I used to own people with it on Megaman X Online Deathmatch. ?
But what they really hate is getting killed by Spin Wheel and Gravity Well. ?

Pretty sure I let him talk until the fight started. It's been since 2015 since I did that DLC though.
Guess I just need to play all the way through the DLC sometime. ?

Killing people with Makoto's taunt is a thing I do on occasion
