Norio Wakamoto, Koichi Yamadera, Megumi Hayashibara

Megu-Chan is a great singer too, I listen to her albums when I run sometimes

I love Sugita. That's all i'll say. I love the man's voice.

Daisuke Ono voiced Koizumi from Haruhi? Damn he has some great range.

Here's a good one!
I thought he was dead. He didn't voice Kinnikuman in the new anime so i thought he had died or something but i checked it right now and he's apparentely still alive.

Tara Strong is the voice of my childhood, and cannot be beaten.

Outside of her goddess-like status, I have Billy West, Tress McNeille, Rob Paulsen, Maurice LaMarche, Kath Soucie, Bernadette Peters, Frank Welker, Kathy Sagal, Joe DiMaggio, Kathleen Barr, Dan Castelanetta...

is the last one you listed the seiyuu for Arkanoid II: Revenge of *D'oh!* ?

(yes my jokes REACH for the starsss but sometimes catch nothin but air xD )

You guys have all very refined tastes. If Sugita is taken, then I'll follow up with my 2nd "I can never get tired of this guy" which is Hiroshi Kamiya.

Pretty much. Omegapunch really did list the first 2 voice actors I googled as a kid.

Mel Blanc is pretty damn good too not gonna lie!

I always tell myself this, but if there's just one guy where I wished he voiced more major characters, it's Kevin McDonald (the Kids in the Hall guy with that voice).
He... voiced an alien in Invader Zim.
Then... voiced an alien in Lilo & Stitch.
& then just random stuff here & there. Oh, & a nice cameo in the recent Scott Pilgrim anime.

Three names: Laura Bailey, Yuri Lowenthal and Françoise Cadole.

Yuri Lowenthal was in... a LOT of anime and video games during the 2000s and 2010s. From main roles like Yosuke in Persona 4 to the "Cocky" voiceset for Dragon Age Origin's male protagonist. He's like that friend that keeps popping up in the weirdest places in town when you least expect it. He's probably the best thing about Yosuke.

Laura Bailey has an amazing voice, with a lot of power and a lot of depth. Same as Lowenthal, I can always call her out when I'm playing or watching something random. She knows her range, but she also knows how to bring the nuance needed to differentiate Bloodrayne from Helena in Resident Evil 6.

Then the left-field pick, the French voice actress for Lara Croft from Tomb Raider (1996) to, uh, Tomb Raider (2013), where she was replaced by a younger actress. Understandably, sure, but still. While the English dub of Tomb Raider switched actresses regularly, France really benefitted from having a more cohesive character across more than a decade, which probably helped her success there. Lara Croft's appearance in car advertisements is probably what launched Françoise Cadole's career into ad-voice-acting. She's probably voiced an ad for every car manufacturer that sells there.

It's frustrating that her only other video game credit is David Cage's Quantic Dream. She has such a peculiar timber, and great acting chops.

Mel Blanc <3

  • John DiMaggio: Bender is great, but it's always nice to notice his unique voice in other roles too. I actually think he should be the new Joker for animated roles, as he did pretty well in Batman: Under the Red Hood. (And the guy does a lot of Batman animated stuff already.)
  • Mark Hamill: More Joker, but he's done plenty of other really good roles. He doesn't always nail characters (particularly if he takes over from another iconic actor), but he's still entertaining in any role.
  • Clancy Brown: Honestly, I've seen more of his live action work than his voice acting. But his Lex Luthor is the best ever. (Speaking of Hollywood actors voice acting Justice League villains, Michael Ironside nailed it as Darkseid.)
  • Keith David: This is one of those voices you always hear and say "hey, it's that guy!" Pretty much the go-to guy for characters with powerful intimidating voices.
  • Billy West: Honestly, I used to hate him with a passion. For a whole decade, I couldn't hear anything in his voice but Stimpy. But his performance on Futurama turned that around and finally gave him a set of characters I could like.
  • Wendee Lee: The female voice of 90s and 00s anime. You know it's her when you hear her.
  • Steve Blum: The male voice of 90s and 00s anime. If you watched Toonami, there's no way you didn't hear him. (I always found it funny when he introduced a show he starred in, as if TOM had created a conflict of interest.)
  • ProZD: He's not the biggest name in voice acting, but he has such a great talent at comedy that you almost forget that he's also a talented voice actor.

All in no particular order.

For the West: Mark Hamil, JYB, Keith David, Chris Judge since before he is known as Kratos, Tom Kenny, Douglas Lawrence. Forgot to add Tim Curry.

For Japan: Kitamura Eri, The King of Heroes Nobuyuki Hiyama, Sakura Tange, Inoue Kikuko, Norio Wakamoto, Uchida siblings, Sumipe, Tomizawa Michie, Asami Imai, Noriko Hidaka, Takada Yuuki, Takehito Koyasu, Masaya Onosaka, Konishi Katsuyuki.

Sugita and Nakamura too obviously.

I thought he was dead. He didn't voice Kinnikuman in the new anime so i thought he had died or something but i checked it right now and he's apparentely still alive.
He is retired, this is a problem for SRW franchise as he is the voice of original Ryouma Nagare, while he in many occasion says that he don't mind someone else replacing his roles, some Bandai head honchos refused to swap chara voice especially the original one is still around, this is one of the reason why modern SRW games never have classic Getter 1 anymore.

Well, I can give my top three, plus an honorary mention or three. Dom DeLouise for one is legendary, far as I'm concerned (RIP, though it's been years o7)...

...Kath Soucie, who I prefer over Tara Strong and who has also voiced a bazillion characters, is also great (and still alive at the time of this post)...

...And, Peter Renaday will forever be the greatest voice actor for Master Splinter (RIP as well o7)...

...Honorary mention to Ken Page as well. He'd passed away as I was finishing up a retrospective / video essay / memefest for the original All Dogs Go To Heaven. RIP as well to him o7

EDIT: Also Tress MacNeille (Gadget from Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Babs from the Tiny Toon Adventures) and Lara Jill Miller (Hikari from Digimon, Haru from Beastars). I haven't heard more of their stuff beyond the roles though. I don't feel like adding pictures for these two.

It's kind of a shame my three favorite male VAs are deceased, though my top three female ones aren't. Something something, women living longer than men...?

EDIT 2: Someone mentioned ProZD / SunWong Cho, and I agree. Dude's got great range!
