has a bonus who do you use has a punching bag in ultimate? my fav is the 3ds version cause when i had a 3ds i use go to 2vs2 and troll with Duck Hunt. sadly they changed the dodge gimmick in air so i can't troll any more with duck hunt me a sad DJ. also i love beating the crap out of Pichu. hearing his back ground KO sound is just epic. PICHU PICHU CHHHHHHUUUUUUUU!!!!!

My favorite smash is the Super Smash Bros. Melee because it innovated many things compared to the previous installment such as an Adventure Mode, Better Controls in jumping and attacks, Better Graphics That has aged like wine, More game modes such as tournament mode, attack the punching bag (Home Run), challenge mode, etc. and it has more than double the characters that are 14 (25 or 26 if you unlock them all).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate because you can play as Joker from Persona 5 and he wields a gun lolol:

My punching bag is Mario of course. I'm glad my prayers are answered so I can beat the shit out of Mario. It's satisfying to beat a Nintendo's signature character with a Sega character lolol.

i enjoy brawl the most, as a complete package
so much to do and see and all the characters interacting with each other was wonderful
that being said the core gameplay of melee was more entertaining to me
i do not know all that much about ultimate and smash 4 was only ok in my eyes

My favorite is actually Smash: Remix.

Gotta love a mod that not only delivers on all the promises Nintendo left unfulfilled, but also managed to get the original narrator to voice it.
I'm sorry but I don't really recall Nintendo promising stuff like Crash in Smash.

I love the mod and I'm glad that the modding scene outside of Brawl has finally flourished.

brawl

just to piss off the melee fanboys
A bit immature to say that only to annoy others rather than things you really like but I would still insist how Smash Bros is a party game before anything else.

The floatiness and random tripping are the biggest issues about the game but then there's a massive amount of single player content and a big adventure mode that surpasses the rest of the franchise to balance them out.

If you take mods into account then yes, Brawl is the best to play on PC and modded Wiis solely for the high modularity of the game and Project M takes the best of both worlds.

I like Smash 4 3DS over the Wii U version simply because there's Smash Run and to be honest Sm4sh felt like a regression in the franchise compared to Brawl without managing to recreate Melee's fast and responsive gameplay...

My nostalgia would take Melee because of what it brought to Smash after 64 but if you take mods out I'd settle with Ultimate at the end of the day.

They had promised a playable King Dedede, MewTwo and a few others that were added by the team.
The mod team fulfilling promises is good but I've misunderstood your message as in Nintendo promising stuff they didn't do (especially considering how the Smash Ultimate roster had characters I wouldn't have believed to see if someone told me a decade ago).

For the time being, Brawl, far saner unlock requirements than Melee (RIGHT MEWTWO) and a more casual approach, i pop Melee usually, but it's reserved for vacation nights

Haven't played 4 or Ultimate, i really want to play Ultimate tho

Super Smash Bros 3DS, too many late night battles and Smash Run being a great single player mode.

Yea a mod that inserted Melee characters and DARK SAMUS (no one asked for her) and not someone like Bomberman of all things.

This is from GameFaqs

Get KO's/Vs matches quickly and easily

To get lots of KO's and VS matches under your belt in a shorter amount of time, play a ''1 Stock Survival Test'' against the CPU. Make sure that you are player one (you can use any character) and Ness is in the 2nd slot. Set his CPU level to 9. Select ''Jungle Japes'' as your battlefield. When the fight begins, dont move. Ness will go up, over, and right into the river everytime. This is handy for quickly unlocking some of the secret characters and stages.

Nintendo was allergic to money by making us wait until this hack to play as Conker

Melee for nostalgia and soundtrack, but Ultimate for just about everything else.

Out of every nice additions it brought and you're complaining about Dark Samus?

Bomberman has a very limited moveset but the addition of Goemon and Marina excused his absence.

I'm still less fan of 200 Trophies for R.O.B personally.

Smash Bros was still better when characters had a specific requirement and not randomly popping in...

At least Banjo finally made it.

Yea Dark Samus, a character that didn't even existed during time. You're really gonna talk about Bomberman having a "limited moveset" when Smash Bros 64 doesn't even have side B moves? Also COUGH COUGH Bomberman Hero COUGH!!!

There are several members in the Remix roster that were from games released after Smash 64 such as Giga Bowser, Lanky Koong (DK64 released a bit later than Smash in 1999), Roy, Lucas and even Conker himself since the game came in 2001.

I'd also say that Bonus characters are meant to be bonuses (basically like clones/Echo characters) which don't take as much space on the Cartridge (Dragon King is a special move less version of C.Falcon).

Anyway, this mod is still free and has quite a big roster to afford to complain about Dark Samus.

Is this a big deal if he's not here? Does that remove any qualities to the mod?

Perhaps Heroes could've been the basis but then again would it still be fundamentally the classic Bomberman?

Some of us don't wanna play a Smash Bros 64 rom hack just because the creator put in Melee characters because "oh Melee is the greatest game ever" where it would of been appropriate to put in characters that were established at the time. (I know all the Melee characters did existed at the time but my god if I wanted to play Smash Bros Melee I would go and play SMASH BROS MELEE!!!)

There are characters from Brawl...

And honestly I find it interesting to see how Dedede or Bowser are playing like on the N64 because some of them were planned even way back then.

Also there's no strict rules about "putting only characters from the epoch Smash 64 was made in" but the team didn't go further than the mid-00's in term of character, Dark Samus is almost the sole exception about the era Smash 64 was made in and I'm fine with that. I didn't care about Mad Piano but bonus characters are just meant to be bonuses.

Melee's roster is still iconic for adding characters that were iconic yet missing like Falco and Ganondorf, you cannot blame them for that, same with Brawl's Wario and Dedede.

Now I'd say that Villager wouldn't have been too out of place as Animal Crossing debuted on the N64 but Smash 4's roster newcommers may have been too "modern" for Smash Remix on the other hand.

It really sounds a bit nit-picky and complaining for the sake of complaining about a mod while ignoring every new things it has added (specifically Conker and Crash as well as a better Classic mode).
