I've always loved the Ape Escape ad, and most of the old playstation ones to be honest, they used to have a charm adverts just don't have anymore.

This one, even though we didn't know at the time, it was parts from the JP commercial.:

So imagine, seeing that and thinking if they'd put that kinda effort to make a live action movie everyone was saying at the time.
