Anyone got any Midi songs they like? For me it has to be Doom Eviternity's Map 31 Imperator:
Perfectly paced for the map it fills, it sounds like the face Doomguy makes when he picks up a weapon.

A newer game but I love this. Shovel Knight used VRC6 audio to make the music which was a memory mapper Konami made for the NES. The Japanese version of Castlevania III also used it.

I freakin' love MIDIs. They bring me back to the nostalgic bygone days where I'd browse VGMusic for video game songs, long before I had easy access to ripped or OST versions. And no, chiptunes =/= MIDI, shame on some of you.

Bjorn Lynne / Dr Awesome has MIDI renditions of his classic songs, and they're excellent. I uploaded them myself to my Youtube channel. Here's a couple faves, they're so evocative.

And for those who remember GraalOnline before Stephane Portha sold out, and turned it into a crappy Facebook app? Here's s'more MIDIs from that one too. Having been playing Link to the Past for the first time lately, it baffles me how well they recreated those mechanics and game feel in classic Graal.

GraalOnline!? Oh my god, I haven't thought about that in years! What a blast from the past!
