When I first saw them in 2008 I couldn’t listen to any music for a week straight because everything sounded boring by comparison. Also on the top ten list of great live performances, the Melvins at Hellfest 2011 [MEDIA=youtube]Py8GgAJ2XlI[/MEDIA] Don’t mind the video title, Phil Anselmo has thankfully nothing at all to do with the Melvins. He’s just standing on the side of the stage here, watching and the uploader put his unfortunate name in the title to attract viewers. I saw the Melvins on this tour and it was crazy. The best live band I’ve seen in the last couple of years were Zu with the drummer/singer of Ruins. It was pure insanity. They have an album out in April,recorded on that tour.
