From what I could tell, there is not a thread about our favorite instruction booklets that came with our games! Let me know what your favorite manuals are, and why!

One that I've recently taken a liking to is Metal Gear Solid 2's PS2 instruction booklet:

I played MGS2 to its completion for the first time very recently, and I wanted to take a look at the manual's contents to see if there was anything of note; to my surprise, the booklet contains some manga-styled pages that detail how to play! I thought this was a very neat touch, and matches Metal Gear's presentation style very well.

Between those of old and new (but mostly old, of course...), what are your favorite instruction booklets?

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy! Lot of fun lore displayed here, leaving the gameplay to the game itself. Screenshots here from Vimm's Lair are thumbnail'd, to save some space.

Plus, handy tips that the game doesn't explicitly mention, all in one place. Handy for mastering the nuances of the game, as one might expect from an instruction manual. :)

Rockstar Games. Need I say more?
From Manhunt's looking like a brochure for a snuff company, to GTA Liberty City Stories looking and reading like a newspaper, Rockstar almost always went above and beyond.

Hell, they were still big on inserts gen into the 8th gen. Although it had no manual, the RDR2 PS4 bundle's box was made slightly bigger to accommodate a physical copy and, by extension, a physical map.

Ah, I'm not too sure that the manuals you wanted to include as attachments are seen correctly - but regardless of that, Rockstar is a great choice for their manuals! Their included maps are always a welcome addition to their booklets!

The further back you go the more effort and love went into game manuals. Half the fun of buying a new game was reading the booklet on the way home.

I really liked Zelda a link to the past booklet. Probably my favourite concept art for any Zelda game
