GBC Favorite GameBoy Color Games

I really loved the perfect dark game for gbc. there are others I love far more like the oracle games, links awakening, dragon quest 3, Mario deluxe - but I have very fond memories of perfect dark and thinking it was such a cool game on my gbc.

Legend of Zelda series, Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel, Castlevania, Pokemon and Telefang, Mario and Megaman Games, Donkey Kong Country and Shantae in what would be the most impressive looking games for a Game Boy Color.

My first GBC game was The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. Never played it before that. It was also my first Zelda game. Got the Oracle Zeldas, Dragon's Lair, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country, Pac-Man: Special Color Edition, and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Cobi's Journey. My sister had Mary Kate and Ashley (the one that used to be a South Park game in early development) and Mickey's Racing Adventure which both me and my sister played together until we unlocked everything in it. We also both got our own copies of both Pokemon Gold and Silver versions. It was that way because my sister wanted her own copy of everything. Made trading a lot easier though!

This might come off as surprising but the GBC release of Dragon Quest 3 is actually quite good and I heavily recommend it as a way to experience this title, certainly preferable to that modern release on Switch...

Return of the Ninja is a cute, simple and polished sequel to Shadow of the Ninja. It has surprising enemy AI and simple stealth elements that blend well with its gameplay. Visually its quite stunning too.

Dragon Quest III is good no matter how you play it. ^_^

I was gonna go for a Pokemon game (I love them, after all)... but I think Wendy: Every Witch Way.

The animation in that one is stunning, only second to Shantae's.

Pokemon Yellow and Silver are my second picks, though.

Was Survival Kids on GBC or GB? I don't remember, but that hands down. It's actually the only GBC game I remember playing. And I played it over, and over, and over. I would imagine it's still a very good game as long as you're cool with the limitations of the time.

GBC i think.

Hmm most of my favorite GB games are on the original as for Color;

- Azure Dreams
- Mega Man Xtreme 2
- R-Type DX
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Pocket Puyo Puyo Sun
R-Type DX was pretty cool, but wasn't there a monochrome version for regular gameboy too?

It was tradition back then to have DX versions released on Game Boy Color that were full color versions of classic Game Boy games.

Zelda Oracle Games. I also count Link's Awakening with those since it's great but yeah. I really love Oracle of Seasons...

seconding Crystal and Ghost Babel, but i'm throwing in Star Ocean: Blue Sphere. it's amazing!
also, the Zelda games are pretty good, even though i haven't finished them...

My favorites are the Zelda Oracle games because I love the conectivity sistem that those games have (complete oracle of seasons and then play oracle of ages and you se more extra content). Also Another that I found interesting (yet never complete it) are the two Harry potter games that are an RPG following more the books than the movies. And of course I always play the GBC port of DQ3

Well growing up I didn't have one, but a friend did, and I played Game and Watch Gallery 3 constantly.

Later in life, with emulation? Probably Metal Gear Solid, wild how good that game is.

Super Mario Bros Deluxe, Pokémon Pinball, Super Robot Wars Pinball, Tetris DX, Batman: The Animated Series, Wario Land II, Pokémon Crystal and many others.

Mine are Pokemon GSC, Wario Land 2, YuGiOh Dark Duel Stories, Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, Mega Man Xtreme 2, and the Pokemon TCG.

My favourite is about to be the english translation of Atelier Marie that got uploaded to the repo.
Lets GOOOO!
(Also Hamtaro Ham Hams Unite gets a big thumbs up. I loved exploring every part of the tiny worlds and finding hidden secrets.)

I played Donkey Kong Country a ton on my purple GBC. I also have these vague memories of a platformer involving rats with guns. It wasn't a great game from what I can remember of it, but I do recall playing it quite often on car rides. No idea what it was called.
