Always loved the Soundtrack and the sprite art is absolute peak SNK-masterpiece till to this day .

Bloody Roar 1

This was my debut 3D-fighting game on the Ps1 and still and an awesome banger from its masterclass rocking Soundtrack to its relentless gameplay . While other prefer 2 or 3 , i still think that BR1 is the best one with its bloody & aggressive gameplay while the combos and action just rocks harder than the sequels overall . I mastered that game that the highest difficulty is for me still childsplay . Even Tekken cant top that underrated fighter .

Dead or Alive 3

I got it as my first Xbox game and i was instantly hooked with its visuals , the its aesthetics, cultured Waifus and especially the gameplay ... honestly , the gameplay is addictive and truly the better alternative to Tekken . And yes , the DOA Waifus are peak eye-candy too .

Samurai Shodown 3

I think its one of the best and smoothest Samshos of all . Another favourite SNK-banger.

SVC chaos

Had this on Xbox but sadly lost it when i gave it one friend . Still hunting the Xbox copy which is for me the best console port of it . While others consider that a Kusoge/Bad game i actually liked this game much better that CvS . Rough to get into till you understand its combo system and break this game into when you get into full speed with it . Love it even with flaws .

Anime fighters are pretty sick, though I’ve only dabbled in arcana heart and blazblue, and a bit of chaos code. Phantom breaker is also cool.

Blazblue is on sale actually, I bought central fiction in hopes of hosting a tourney with friends.

I prefer the term Air Dasher but you're right. I need to play AH and CC again.

Welp, I thought that BlazBlue was a bit too "weebish"/Persona-esque compared to Guilty Gear but since Strive has lost that "edge" to me I'd go for BB simply because I love 2D sprite art.

It's a good one but it didn't feel like Melty Blood...

Nowadays it's more like Capcom would put Morrigan in crossover games like "yeah yeah we remember DarkStalkers, stop asking us."

I love Alpha era spritework (even above SFIII's).

I bet Darkstalkers would be a cool crossover for Killer Instinct. A Lord Raptor Skelator fight come to mind.

I wish we got more fighting games with non human characters... Whether they're animal hybrids like Bloody Roar or robots like in Zero Divide.

But I'm probably digressing a ton there.

Maybe this is a hot take but SFIII had great animations but at the cost of a limited roster (even in Third Strike) compared to Alpha 3 and I also prefer the lighter colours and less gritty feeling of the Alpha series. I do prefer the SFIII NG/2nd Impact and SFA1&2 over their respective third entries'.

I'd say also how some people also prefer KoF '98 animations and style over Garou.
