Not videogames based in cartoons, videogames that uses a cartoon setting or aesthetic, which one you like?

A No Brainer for me: Cuphead, the fact the makers actually used Cel animation to make the game when keeping the game fun and balanced and also having my favorite animation style as base made it my personal GOTY, also Miss Challice is a total Cinamon roll and whoever disagrees will be sent to the shadow realm

Man that's a tough question when you word it like that.
The only ones that come to mind immediately are Cuphead, which rocks, and Comix Zone, which blows.

There was a co-op shooter that released last year called Mythforce which styles itself after 80s satam cartoons, which I always wanted to play but still haven't gotten around to.

Mayhem Brawler
That's right.Which means Street of Rage 3 counts as well. It goes for a more American comic book aesthetic, but that still counts. While on that subject I have to put in Viewtiful Joe, MadWorld, Hi-Fi Rush and Comix Zone. Though CZ you couldn't get me to play anymore.

a rhythm gamer, so the first game that came to my mind was Pop'n Music.

I love the range this game has, both in terms of art and in music. You have silly little cat characters singing little anime songs, and the final challenge you get for beating the story mode is the "HELL COURSE."

Gotta say Cel Damage, it's pretty much a zanier take on vehicular combat, plus Charles Martinet voices the gangster duck Fowl Mouth

another game I forgot was Battle Beast in the mid-90s. Fighting games back then were associated with pixel characters or polygons but this was the first one to feature high res 640x480 animated 2d characters as vga monitors had higher resolution than tvs and arcades

Also before Bloody Roar, characters could transform from cute 2d mascots to fearsome animal mecha robots, straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon

Controls were awfully bad but presentation and voice acting were top knotch.
