What do you believe to be every retro game console's "Swan Song"?
What I mean by that is the last official game released for each system that people actually care about (no shovelware).

Here are my personal nominations for each system I'm familiar with:

Nintendo
NES: Adventure Island IV (1994)
GB: Pokémon Yellow (1998)
SNES: Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 (1999) or alternatively, Starfox 2 (2017) if you're willing to count its SNES classic release
GBC: Shantae (2002)
N64: Animal Crossing 64 (2001)
GBA: Rhythm Tengoku (2006)
GCN: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006)

SEGA
Master System: Sonic Chaos (1993)
Genesis: Vectorman 2 (1996)
Game Gear: Sonic Blast (1996)
Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga (1998)
Dreamcast: Puyo Puyo Fever (2004)

Sony
PlayStation: Digimon World 3 (2002)
PlayStation 2: Persona 4 (2008)

Microsoft
Xbox: Splinter Cell: Double Agent (2006)

What do you all think? Are there any games you think should be nominated instead? What about games for systems I didn't list, such as the Atari consoles?

I believe p4 and 2008 as a whole is a bit too premature to call the swan song, doesn’t really click, the system had a really good lifespan in most places of the world unlike how North Americans experienced it. Games like dragon ball infinite world and wwe 2011 were extremely popular in circles around here. Dynasty Warriors 6 also did great on ps2 by fixing issues that plagued the original ps3 release (uhhh it’s kinda complicated). Though obviously those are just my two bits. Persona 4 is still a good candidate.

The PSP swan song game was probably one of the yugioh tag games that came out in 2016. Those were still considered good.

I’m surprised Dreamcast had games in 2004. That’s really cool.

Genesis swan song game, I’ll have to think about that. The last two games I cared about were sonic 3 and sonic 3d Blast but I’ll have to google release dates for games I’m not mentioning yet just in case.

Other than Sega's games, the Dreamcast have quite a few games after 2004 like Karous and probably more

The last official the game was Samurai Deeper Kyo. I was disappointed that I couldn't get my hands on the English version because the dvd box set it was in kept selling out as soon as I had the cash. Every. Single. Time.
I loved the Japanese version and was ecstatic to find out that it was released in english.
