Gave the whole thing a playthrough the other day, its alright. Very limited in terms of gameplay but it was enjoyable for the most part.

Would honestly recommend just playing the second game, its for the most part just the same game but better in every aspect and lacking many of the more annoying parts.

Kinda gave me old from software's games vibe. Dunno tho how much they are alike and what this game about

If you played endless ocean on the wii, this is the precursor to that. If you haven't, its an ocean exploration game. You find treasure to get money to buy better equipment for dives. I believe there's a story, (ive tried to play it it was so blurry and I could never figure out why maybe this version will work) but I don't know if its a major part of the story. I know there's an everblue 2.

Put this in patches directory of PCSX2 to be rid of the interlacing (some junk shows at first boot, no big): https://github.com/PeterDelta/PCSX2/blob/main/patches/SLES-50639_3832F5E0.pnach

I actually had to go to Tools/Edit Patches menu and create patch, copy the filename of the created patch and delete it, and rename the downloaded patch with the created patch name (maybe because I widescreen patched the game image, ymmv).
There's already an interlacing patch added. Just need to activate it by right clicking the game to open it's "properties" menu and go to the "patches" tab. There's also an aspect ratio and a NTSC patch

I know ps2 games can be blurry but damn those screenshots look terrible
I don't think the game is supposed to look like that. The emulator seems to have messed it up. I've played a lot of PS2 games on emulators and they look nothing like this even when I have everything set to its lowest graphical option possible

Retro games are modern games designed to look old. Vintage games are old games.
If there's an option to make them look modern high quality games, why not use it? They've look retro because the hardware at the time incapable to upscale the video to hd. But now emulation make it possible. Think.

In PCSX2 yes (Disable Interlace Offset) and also by means of De-Interlacing patches, but at the cost of the interface and the game being distorted, but it can vary.
I don't see no visible distortion when using it. I always turn it on

You sure, it looks too hd. And where's the rating

Not to be rude, but those screenshots are...

AWFUL, RETRO UNAPPROVED BY FIRE
flame thrower kill it with fire GIF

So I booted It up, did soem tinkering with the graphic settings so at the cost of the game constantly bouncing up and down (Which I got used to, It's liek few pixels), I was able to take screenshots that are easier to see. The things I do out of spite

12782 - 55 13 12 - Retro Pixel Lizard.jpg12803 - 15 32 12 - Retro Pixel Lizard.png12793 - 36 17 12 - Retro Pixel Lizard.png12799 - 11 28 12 - Retro Pixel Lizard.jpg12796 - 10 21 12 - Retro Pixel Lizard.png

Not the best way to play It, just a problem with an obscure game that doesn't have 95% compatability with the emulator.

Didn't AetherSX2 have feature to remove the interlace

And yet many YouTubers wants interlace effect on their retro games.

It's due to the interlacing effect that's common in the first PS2 games lifespan and that's reflected by the resolution of 640x224 (256) + 224 (256) = 448 (512).
