Ever played Emily Is Away?

This is basically "AOL Instant Messenger: The Game" and is great.

I could write a whole novel as to why, but I'd rather kill two birds with one stone by letting Emma take over, since her gameplay is what got me to try the game out in the first place:

The developer got SO many little things right in such a confined space that it's really kind of beautiful. What a nostalgic trip!

I played it when it first released, personally. The issue I have with this game is that it offers you choices but they don't matter one bit except for a single message difference iirc, or maybe it was that the good ending wasn't possible unless you did the exact right sequence of 'choices', I don't remember. I'm not complaining about the atmosphere etc, some stuff was done right but I didn't find the game fun. Then again my memory is a bit hazy because I think it released a while ago (2015 I think?)

Yes I've played the prior two entries, Emily Is Away and Emily Is Away Too and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. So I couldn't wait to see what <3 held. Each game had subsequently gotten better and this one had an entirely new UI which caught my eye immediately.

I played both of these games a few times years ago now.

I remember enjoying the fuck out of them, and it made me a fan of the "found technology" sub-genre that has plenty of entires these days, especially if you include things like Pony Island and SIM.
