Help Enabling "Force Mode" in Xak II on MSX2?

I started playing Xak II today, and for some reason can't get magic to toggle on after enchanting my sword to let me cast it. I'm told it's the kana key on the keyboard, which I can't map within Retroarch. I've seen that Right Alt should suffice but it does nothing in game. Anyone run into this issue before? Is it just a Retroarch issue and could be fixed by playing on a standalone blueMSX? I'm playing on a handheld currently so I wanted to stay within RA, but can adjust if need be.

I can't find a GRAPH option when trying to remap either. Would this be tied to a bios file used? I have things like right/left alt and right/left ctrl in that menu, but no Graph key, no Kana key, nothing.
