I've been using Bazzite recently, but since I'm new to Linux, it took me a little while to get used to it. Luckily, the system comes with an installer for all the existing supported emulators.

Bazzite is perfect for me when it comes to emulating retro games. I've had no issues with it.

Bazzite has proven to perform better than Windows when it comes to Xbox 360 and PS3 emulation. That's if they're installed on the right drive.
Games have lag if they're installed on an external drive. That's my only complaint, since storage is very important to me. Also, I haven't figured out how to set up networking so I can play online.

I'd like to hear your thoughts and experiences using it.

I've never heard of Bazzite, though I've used various versions Linux for literal decades. Typically, Linux is less bloated than Windows, and therefore will use less resources, enabling better performance.

For the lag problem, you might check your emulator's settings to see if there's an option to load the entire rom to memory, assuming you have enough (a DVD holds more than 4GB of data, and Blu-Ray is an order of magnitude bigger). If this is done, initial loading times may be longer, but then there will be no more disk access.

Also, if you have a USB 3.0 device, make sure you're not using a USB 2.0 port; the speed difference between the two is significant.

Hope this helps!

I'd never heard of Bazzite, either. But can attest to how complicated running emulators on an OS you're still trying to get the hang of can be, lmao

A friend of mine once tried to get into emulation back in the early 2000s, and was a huge Mac user. Didn't last more than a month trying to get the hang of things, lmao. Different times, no doubt

I'd maybe recommend checking out EmuDeck. Since Bazzite afaik is supposed to be a SteamOS lookalike, EmuDeck works really well with the Steam Big Picture Mode, and in my experience, works fantastic out of the box.
