EB0 Opinions

I have zero opinions on it.

Puns aside, looks really cool.

I really like what I've played of it, but I've never finished it. Earthbound is one of my top 3 favorite games though, so I really want to play this one to the end.

In some ways its story feels more developed and touching compared to Earthbound, but its gameplay isn't as interesting and it lacks those unique visuals of the later titles due to the limitations of the NES. Still, a good game.

It's good, it's not as memorable as Earthbound and Mother 3, but it's one of the better RPGs of the third generation.

I find the Giygas/Giegue/Maria/George backstory very interesting.

It's a well-told story, and has a bit more edge to it than Earthbound in my eyes, but yeah it's hard to go back to. I remember playing it many times as a kid and loving it, but as a tired adult I dunno if I'd have the attention span for it.

More fun if you play the other games in the series first. It's very cool and different for something released in 1989. What's not so cool is that the number of random battles is brutal, and because it doesn't adopt some conventions that only came into force in the next generation, it takes some getting used to.

I played the official Nintendo version, using and abusing the emulator's fast-forward feature to spend less time grinding.
