and then l get this error. does somebody knows how to install this in Lutris. l am using Linux Mint.

Try installing it using winetricks instead. It's in the same menu as the lutris image you posted.

After you select winetricks, it should be under "Install a Windows DLL or component" then "DLL"
Scroll down and select d3dx9_43.

I haven't used lutris in forever so I'm not 100% on the steps but it should be something like that.

Well, I did what you said, But I still get the same error.

It could be the version of wine you're using but I don't know how lutris handles wine versions anymore after wine-ge went away.

I can't help with lutris, but was there anything useful in those log files? Do you see something like "no directory" or something? It could be as simple as you just need to make the directory it wants as it does not have the permissions to make it when executed, but I don't think I have encountered that with wine ever so that is a long shot...

If not, did you try just directly downloading those .dll files without using the setup executable, and putting them in the folder it wants like that first error box mentioned?

If you have already installed the dll, then try set an override for it too:

Wine configuration -> Libraries -> Add d3dx9_43 -> set to native, builtin.

I am trying Heroic right now. Let's hope this works. Plus I see is installing DirectX9.0.

There should be an option to use OpenGL in the game.
Use that instead. The downside is you can't use fullscreen.
