I feel like Disney and Marvel become even worse worse these days. Do you guys and girls believe Marvel in Disney become even worse? I want to hear your opinions.
Disney started chasing trends and listened to "woke" ideologues (i know woke is kind of a political topic, but it is important for this as it is directly linked to disney's downfall) and started to cater towards this crowd, which most of the movie going audience were either indifferent to, or outright hated, especially by men.
To explain what i mean i need to explain what both men and women, as well as what gay people really want, not what you hear ideologues claim, what they really want.
Now do keep in mind i have not watched modern disney so alot of this is second hand, but i do know what people want in their movies and shows
For men it's simple, depending on the genre we like action stars to be hyper-masculine (not necessarily in appearance, but definitely in actions, though flawed masculinity is also allowed depending on the genre of action), protecting something whether it be a kid, a ideal or, the princess trope, examples are the john wick from the john wick movies, bruce wayne from batman 1989 and though it might not seem it, peter parker from the toby mcguire spiderman movies.
For more dramatic roles we prefer the men to be everyman's usually, a man who's 100% masculine but is also more down to earth, comedic men are the exception to this, they can essentially be anything but are more commonly dweebs, examples of this is aladdin from aladdin, gomez addams from the insanely excellent addams family movies and for a comedic example, both winthorpe and valentine from trading places.
How disney failed here is it intentionally de-masculated males constantly and made them hyper feminized in some cases, the mandalorian is a case of them having a good thing and screwing it up in later seasons.
Women in truth want 2 types of characters in more action oriented movies, the damsel in distress (yes, women do tend to like this trope, even if they claim they don't) or the ripley from aliens kind of female action character, strong but still feminine and capable of mistakes, examples are ripley from aliens, sarah connor from the terminator 1 and 2 (1 is a example of damsel, 2 is a example of female action star) and holly mclaine from die hard.
In romance and non action women tend to prefer, at least from disney, the disney princess archetype, though some like the mean girl asthetic, this is not big enough to be classified beyond a niche, generally speaking they prefer the damsel in distress or the chased maiden archetypes in these stories, though exceptions do exist like the um, hyper misogynist bad boy male lead trope (i'm not a woman so i can't claim to understand everything they like), examples include jasmine from aladdin, bella from twilight and um, the woman from 50 shades of grey (again don't ask me why alot of women like this).
Disney failed here in that the princess trope is mostly gone as they more or less destroyed the damsel archetype in their stories and in their place made women overly masculine, as well as mary sue's (looking at you rey from star wars).
The gay side had only one goal, to not be made that important, specifically that gay people are normal, like everyone else, disney failed here as they decided to hyper-fixate on sexuality in alot of their stuff, i won't give examples as the entire point of it is to not be a big deal.
Apparently disney is in deep trouble and they know it, especially with men who have turned their backs on them, they are trying to figure out how to win them back but i have my doubts they can, men tend to be far less likely to forgive than women on things like this.
