Does anyone know how to get access to time trial mode on Ace Driver: Victory Lap?

Foe the namco arcade lovers out there. I've been trying to figure out how to get the time trial mode on ADVL for a little while, and have no clue on how to get it to work. Can anyone help me out here?

Selecting EXPERT (PRO) CLASS while holding the brake pedal during difficulty selection allows access to Time Trial mode (record tracking remains separate for green TIME and red TIME, as in the previous title)

IDK why, but its not working for me. I'm holding the break while selecting expert pro, but its still aregular race for me once I get in.

I tested it and apparently there isnt a "proper" Time Trial mode with only your car on the course, but the game saves your record on different time tables if you play with the red lap timer as the article says

Weird...I remember seeing 2 ADVL gameplay videos from Japanese youtubers & they were playing time trail mode on the actual machines. Does that mean I have to play the Japanese version of ADVL to get TT mode?
