Do you like ketchup?

I do.

I think it enhances any food it is poured over and I'm always looking for excuses to push the limits of what qualifies as "sane to try ketchup with".

But how much I do like this tomato-y goodness?

Ketchup goes well to almost fried foods be it pork, chicken, fish etc.

It’s kinda like one of the top 4 most used condiments here alongside fish sauce, vinegar and soy sauce.

During WW2 because of shortage or scarcity of tomatoes.
Maris Ylagan Orosa invented the Banana Ketchup.

She replaced the tomatoes with bananas which is abundant at that time. Mixed with vinegar and some spices the result was a somewhat sweeter and a bit spicy version of ketchup. It has been part of the Filipino kitchen since then.

As weird as it sounds I even eat it with rice as a side dish.

I loved to use ketchup on eggs as a kid but the more i grew up the more i started to like mustard more.

Those are not actually tostones, those are fried slices of green plantain. They go really well with either cheese or mayo.

Yeah, basically those. Only real difference between the two is that tostones are slightly bigger while these are just slices.
