This is something I used to really avoid doing, but I guess self-respect comes with age.

I don't usually eat out or shop online/in big stores these days, but I tend to hold those to higher standards than those of my local corner stores and neighborhood grills when I do and, so, I'm always ready to review the places right after (which usually ends up with my praising them).

VERY rarely do I leave a negative review on a place (and that's only when I feel is properly deserved, like if I'm being disrespected by staff or something), but I make sure there's no mistake or confusion as to why I'm leaving it when I do. The only thing I don't do is getting fellow workers in trouble by complaining to a manager or something, because I have been on this dance long enough to know that we are all disposable in the eyes of the profit machine and the world just won't wait on you if you fall.

What about you? Do you leave negative reviews in places where your standards weren't met or you felt wronged in any shape, way or form?

Yes, but it has to be an experience that was especially bad and I avoid doing so to mom and pop stores and the like unless they straight up disrespected me. On the top of my head the worst I've done is give a bad review of Walmart, Goodwill, Burlington, and my local AMC Theatre. I had one bad experience at that theater trying to watch that Wolverine & Deadpool movie last year that not only almost got me arrested but later had the staff apologize and I've not seen a movie at ANY movie theater since, matter of fact I haven't watched a new movies since early 2024 that was my shot at getting back on the saddle and that experience ruined it for me.

I rarely eat out, when I do it's because one of my friends drags me into it and I usually don't pay because as I always say "I won't pay for it when I don't prefer to eat out" and if they disagree we don't eat simple as that lol.

I don't trust anything about any place that provides food and stuff, and therefore I ask my friends to take me to a decent place they know.

No matter what I always see issues in these places, it may be a rat looking at me around the corner, the improper way the food is cooked, shady guys going upstair with a big bodyguard dog on the look out, you ask for X food but they bring Y food, the smell of plates, et cetera.

I don't drop negative review for the service though, I directly involve the government and use related channels to make these places get their shit together. In my own country I do not tolerate laws being broken and me and my people can be hurt because of it.

For example when some supermarket had to be open but usually the people work there find a reason to don't allow customers in it, I do not ignore this and directly write a formal letter on the situation and ask them to do whatever is necessary. They demolish a building and don't clean their mess. I write a former letter and warn them if they don't clean their mess this part of the city will be infested with rats and bugs and shit. If I see a building tilted or about to collapse on its own, I don't care if people will be homeless I also write a former letter about it even when the building may be fine.

Everything should be in the way it is when otherwise people will be negatively harmed by it.

In the army me having no rank I even wrote a formal letter about what law the colonel broke to the main headquarters. If you are right and you play your cards right law gives you great power and my pencil is stronger than any gun you may have lolol. My words can be atomic!!!

Recently we were with friends and entered a place to drink tea, we all just asked tea. Tea is an important drink to consume that cannot be replaced with anything else. But the fucker bought us coffee. It's not even in our culture. Dude we ain't Americano. Because of it we won't drink coffee and won't shoot you for mixing up what we requested lol. And it is way more expensive. This is actually a scam method to scam people by making them pay for more expensive foods and drinks with the BS of "oh sorry we don't have tea". I can't simply mention how much rules it breaks in law. And me and my friends are not a person you may simply scam, we all know the law inside out and the law is part of our job. What we did? We banned these dudes from ever opening a public space ever again, and they had to pay particular amount of money to government + permenant criminal record. He begged us for his mistake. Dude it wasn't a mistake, you are just a stupid criminal fuck lol. I only tolerate little kids and disabled people when they intentionally do something stupid. If you are a healthy adult you basically have no excuse. You have no place in society if you are stupidly selfish and lack common sense because when you make a mistake for a stupid gain you ruin your own life and along the way you drag innocents with you. Unfortunately dealing with society to make it a better place is no different than clearing a road in the middle of a blizzard. You deal with one wrong and it rains tons of wrongs on ya.

That's why I don't specifically drop negative reviews on places, I go bug the government and they come up with new laws or not, they send their men and they punish these people for good because it's basically the only way. If you just drop a negative review it's a big zero, it's like a pokemon fight that you try to electroshock an Onix lol. What I do is directly dropping an atomic bomb on their head so even the damn island they are on disappears lol.

I don’t usually leave reviews for places. If I have a good experience, I simply go back and support them. If it’s a bad one, I just stop going. I’ve never had an experience that felt worth the time and effort to write about. Most of the time, bad experiences are just an unfortunate mix of circumstances you happen to get caught in. The next time you visit could be completely different anyway.

I'm not entirely sure what happened, but it seems like there may have been a misunderstanding. Everyone makes mistakes, and at least they took the step to apologize. Try not to let it ruin the experience for you. ::heart

Long story is that they took the word of a patron that was in the wrong before I even got the chance to point out that I was wronged. Was visibly upset at dude slighting me and his girlfriend or wife who was also in the wrong decided to whisper something to him and next thing you know he is going to staff about a disgruntled patron(me). As I tried explaining things, got surrounded by staff & security like they were gearing up to restrain me so I decided to leave. My brother happened to already be in a different theater room in the complex that just had their showing end and when I talked to him on the phone, he took it upon himself to chastise them for me but by the time they figured out what the deal was and offered to remedy the situation, I had already drove back home angry and since then never went back. If it wasn't for my brother, I would have NEVER gotten an apology.

I wanted it to not ruin my experience so bad but this was the culmination of a lot of things. Quality of service had been on the decline and other patrons were becoming worse and worse behaved which has been a pattern for theaters and sporting events the last 3 years. Maybe one day I'll watch a movie in a movie theater again but I can't go back to that location. I can't and it was a place I went to at a point every Thursday without fail.

I generally don't like to leave a negative review for a place unless it's REALLY bad, as I feel most workers are just doing their best to get through the day. Unless an employee is being outright belligerent, I try to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I've only actually ever left one bad review for a place in my life. It was a game and hobby shop, and one of the employees started arguing over the game I brought to the counter and angerly said I had shit taste, the whole thing was rather surreal :loldog

That moment she added another face to her "spit on their food and drink" list lolol.

Only if the experience was so terrible that I feel like I need to warn people about it.
