Do you guys miss the old days

I think your misunderstanding what i meant, my entire point was that this is the ebb and flow of the world, if we go against the tide it will be disasterous, if we go with the tide we can weather it and come out on the other side, the point i was making is that the modern system will not last forever, it literally is impossible, this is neither a good or bad thing and depending how we handle it, it can lead us to a better future, or a worse one.

Many people in the modern day think their modern comforts make the world better, i posit a counterargument, i think they can make our lives better, but we shouldn't rely on them as that's a poisoned apple, tastes good at first but have dire consequences as they conflict with human nature.

A example is once you take away a person's feeling of purpose, they will react like a cornered animal to claw it back, my statement is that our modern world has removed the sense of purpose and if we want to change things and prevent the ebb, we need to regain that sense of purpose and goal.
Eh, I'm sorry man, I'm so used to people arguing about dumb shit that I don't have the energy for it anymore. Take it ease. Keep it OS and all that.

very commendably astute.

even if I am attached to my screen involved with 10,012 ambitious artistic, conversational or analytic/practical pursuits in manic phase - I still try to give mehself an out/stopping point n go walk around the neighborhoods or sit with my closest neighbor friend and/or his sister on their porch n just lamp or veg n shoot various shits without any devices in my face...

tech marvels n QoL shit are not to be abandoned - too far in any diametric/dynamic direction leads to trouble on grander n grander scales of consequence. our advances should just be interwoven into a somewhat-balanced mix. walkin the tightrope of moderation without using the (illusory) guard rails is a daunting, intimidation-riddled task but life is probably meant to be as much of a challenge as it is a 'mere' experience, m e t h y n x anywey.

Y’all got mf's arguing philosophy on RGT I done seen it all. 🤣
I know, I know. It's insane that people have thoughts past "ooh ooh Creepy Susie, Carti Album!"

2.What we're seeing is mouse utopia in action, basically humans grow and thrive when difficulty exists, we've had about 80 years now of relative peace and it's going to eventually cause a societal collapse and a dark age, as has happened multiple times in history, this doesn't always mean mindless slaughter and a loss of all technology, but it does usually cause a population bottleneck and a stagnant/declining civilization but as i said this is how history generally works for humanity sadly, we need something to "fight" for, whether that be legitimate fighting, or some kind of cause, if we don't have it, we MAKE one, sadly.
Although I'd say that when people say that we thrive from doing war they are more often far from the front nor being a victim of said war.

It's easy to say that fighting is good when nobody you personally know gets killed (or permanently disabled) during a conflict.

We already got enough conflicts going on every day and this will never profit anybody if one continues for longer.

What makes a cause more legitimate from another by the way? That's pretty subjective and even the west's cause could be seen as imposing their view over others.

Well first off i never said war in that, i said challenge and conflict, humans by nature are both competitive and have a innovative spirit, when you take that away people tend to get violent because they seek out that lost purpose.

Wars are one way that works, but my statement was that if we don't have some kind of "rason detre" to get people to fulfill some kind of purpose that humans innately seek, they will MAKE one, even if it's war and genocide.

The problem with modern society is it denies human nature, this breeds discontent where you get people showing up to protests and riots not even knowing what the riot or protest was over, because it gives them a sense of accomplishment, normally religion and the family unit would fulfill a good bit of this but well, modern secularism has made having children become a stigma and downplays the actual meaning of religion, so people find some other thing to put their "faith" in.

The Greatest Yapper of today vs the Greatest Yapper in history who will win?

Eh, I miss the people and experiences of the old days more than those days themselves. The thing about nostalgia is that it's usually not the way things were that you miss, but the way you felt at the time.

edit: aLso, above me - that's meh game atm right the NaoW. dk why a futebol legend is doin in an SNK game, but I'll let that sliiiiide. yes a goalie-SLIIIIIIDE

I've definitely found myself missing the days when things weren't corporations fighting for attention on the one thing that's become such an overcentralizing part of our lives, but the world is so heavily built around that most of us are unable to get rid of it without most of the world ceasing to work. I miss the days where the internet wasn't corporatized, and you could watch youtube videos without the person self-censoring words that are mildly more offensive than drat so that coke ads could be placed on their video, and when the sole large forum wasn't a cesspit. I miss when things were good quality and reasonably priced, as opposed to being so shitty that you can tell it has small life expectancy and being the price of what used to be the expensive things.

I don't miss the past because it's the past. I'm fully aware that if I went back even twenty or thirty years, someone like me would be treated far worse. I miss it because the present is just so terrible.

Not sure if i really miss the old days, i think i simply become bored of what today's entertainment and society have to offer.

If the present sucks and the future is cloudy, yeah of course people gonna lock themselves in the past.
