Ah Dirt Track Racing 2. One of my absolute favorite PC racing games, aside from Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed. Its been a very long time since I fully played this joint, and the first PC game where I dabbled into pc modding for the first time. Just recently downloaded this from a abandonware games sight & got it installed. However, one annoying thing is preventing me from enjoying this classic: TROJAN.

Apparently one of the files on the cd mount has a trojan virus in it. I can't tell if its legit or is window defender being boo boo-aids. I don't understand why this joint doesn't have a no-cd crack folder & I kinda don't wanna risk cuz I just got this new laptop a few months ago. Though I would love to see some kind of fan made hd remaster happen to this game, but I doubt it. So if anyone can chime in & help, I would appreciate it.

If you got it from myabandomware, its usually fine, those guys have pretty good curation.

The crack folder is likely inside the iso, and those tend to trigger false positives with anti-virus software, if you are very paranoid you could run it through virus total to get a second opinion.

Never heard of this game but I would wanna play it 4 sure. Though I still play a similar game called Test Drive Eve of Destruction on PS2 but too bad the game is not on repo here.

You can maybe also try and give archive.org a search for the iso and check if said file is on the disc (and is clean).
Windows defender can be picky, but its always better to be safe than sorry.

I just downloaded the game again, but from myabandonware this time. The one I downloaded from originally is abandonwaregames .net, and that's where I usually browse for games & downloaded some. I decided to take your advice & scan the iso on virus total. The result speaks for themselves.

Checked archive.org and the only DTR2 related things they is the demo version & the manual, but not the full game itself. They got the full game isos for the other games in the series but not the one I'm looking for.

There's also Saturday Night Speedway made by the same devs of DTR2, but sadly, just like Test Drive, its also not in the repo.
