Differences between Super Mario 3D All-Star's version of Super Mario Galaxy and the new version

What does everyone think? Worth $40?

I can only tell a difference in the last picture. I'd say it's only worth it if you missed out on that 3D All-Stars collection. Meanwhile, I prefer physical, so I'd be double dipping on Galaxy 1 if I want Galaxy 2

I'll stick to the wii copy. Its cool they updated the textures. Ill play it on an emulated version in 10+ years

I mean, it's cool they did something, but HD texture packs have been a thing on emulators for years. If this is how you want to play Galaxy you can already do it.

I mean if you haven't played these games yet, and you want to own them, it's definitely worth it, at that price I'd say. Rereleasing actually good games for new generations of kids to love is good, and these games are both fantastic.

Unless they're doing the stupid timed thing they did with 3D All-Stars, I might buy it second-hand later down the line if I have some mario coins to spare, but I'm definitely not hard-pressed to have these versions right away, but I borrowed a friend's 3D All-Stars and played Galaxy 1 on it, and I emulated them both like 2017 iirc, and played them both when they were new.

to be honest i wanna know the FPS, how long it takes to load, whats the new content, etc
the graphics don't matter i can do that on dolphin and set it to 4k or whatever, max AA and AS, all that fancy stuff.
if it runs constant 120FPS and loads in like a few seconds that'd be amazing
