What is your Taste in Games and there Specific Genres, did it change since your Childhood or did it stay the Same, for Example if you liked sport games as a kid but not anymore. So what Genres compared to your Childhood do you prefer today if it did change ?

I used to be really into JRPGs when I was a kid, but after buying a chipped Saturn a few years ago I really began getting into arcade games. Outrun was the real turning point for some reason I was able to run that shit for hours and hours where as with most JRPGS I’m bored by the mid game. I still like some for sure but the only long running JRPG series I’m into at this point is shin Megami tensai

Grew up playing arcade games as a kid, majority of genres from them remain my favorite especially fighting, shoot'em up, action/run'n gun, puzzle, rhythm. Pretty much stayed the same, except I play less beat'em up /brawlers these days. Besides arcade style also still like platform, strategy, and RPG.

For years I was never into FPS (besides casually playing Unreal Tournament with friends at school), adventure, simulator type games but more recently I've came around to a few like Shock Wave 2: Beyond the Gate, Killing Time since I played them on 3DO interactive Multiplayer. Still not my favorite but can appreciate them now.

i've mostly just become too easily stressed to play precision platformers as i've gotten older. also lost a lot of patience for RPGs the last couple years not at their own fault but because i get more anxious on what i commit my time at home to with a full time job dictating my life

Well for me I liked most games classified as being for Adults as a kid so many Battle and Shooter games i would not touch a cute or cozy game at all.but now as an Adult I like cute Games like Cat quest and Harvest and Rune Factory weirdly how i prefer so called kids games more now as an Adult than I did as a kid.

It has changed constantly from what I remember but nowadays I enjoy basically everything if it clicks with me. As a teenager I used to think JRPGs were the very best genre and now they just give me cringe and am very selective about them.

In my case, my favorite games are hack and slash and survival horror, and that hasn't changed until now. However, I started playing video games with the PSX and back then I liked adventure games like Spyro or Medievil, but that changed when I got my PS2. What did actually happen is that nowadays I'm more willing to try games that I would never have played before, either because their concept doesn't appeal to me or because it's not a genre I like.

Atlus is the only thing keeping me in the genre. If it weren't for them I'd be a normal human being but no, they had to add Kasumi to Royal and made me a degenerate once more.

Used to like beat'em ups and hack n slash growing up I didn't like them that much anymore and started enjoying jrpgs which I find boring as a kid, but liked action adventure games all the way trhough

Same i became more open minded about the games I try nowadays many Genres Including Racing,Farming,Adventure and so on,but i am not good with horror games i tried some back than i think honestly i don't remember, and by horror I mean real horror so Dead Space and Doom is fine for me.

The biggest change was becoming a Souls fan, I guess. I used to be more of a fan of Zelda, Pokémon, JRPGs, etc, but there's something about soulsbornekiroring that kind of reminds me of the classics, especially the atmosphere and vibes. So maybe my tastes didn't change all that much, I just found a new addiction.

Souls games a like a Toxic Relationship for me no matter how much i suffer i always come back, and i sadly admit I only beat the first Dark Souls Game.

Not really, I still like the same genres although it is true that there are things that used to be technological limitations and now they are not and that they are still being used and I don't like it so much.
For example the random encounters and the change of battle in RPGs, if Chrono Trigger allowed us to see the enemies on screen and fight without transitions in 1995 I don't see why other companies didn't take the same approach.

Another example is the use of chibi characters, I understand it when the power of the consoles could not afford to have normal sized characters on screen but it is still done today?
I know it's more about graphic style but I see many games that if they had been at least graphically like Tales of Graces would have looked more visually appealing like Bravely Default.

It did change! Games used to taste like chocolate, now they taste like ice cream! Truly an evolution.

Yeah

First games I was into were SNES RPGs and tactics games like SRW, as my reflexes were slow (I believed) and the only fast-paced game I played was Gundam Wing: Endless Duel for the SNES as I liked Gundam Wing but my win rate was just about 60% due to the tricks I knew

Action games, racing games and flight sim games were out (didn't even play Ace Combat 2 and 3 back then). Fast forward a couple of years, my elder bro got a copy of Ace Combat ZERO (while not getting Ace Combat 5; go figure)

With me fresh off watching a DVD of Les Chevaliers du ciel (and fell in love with the Mirage 2000) I saw that Ace Combat ZERO got a cockpit view so I was eager to fly... and got splashed spectacularly

So I just did the grind until I finished the game then I realized that to be good in these kind of games you just have to do it, fail then do it again; there's no brainy shortcut. Once I learned, I went back and played all the games I avoided back when I was younger...

I think this is because Square Enix is doing badly with its modern titles, so they keep bringing these old games back as if saying "hey, remember the good old times?" Like, why make Bravely Default 2 look like a 3DS game when the Switch could run far better? Because they're afraid of fucking up yet another IP. If you take a closer look, most major JRPG franchises aren't doing the things you just complained (Tales of Arise, Persona 5, SMT V, Atelier, Xenoblade... hell, even Pokémon).

Well, I said "most" as if there's a lot of them...

Not much changed, but expanded I must say, I still enjoy and play late seventies early eighties arcade games.
But in the beginning, for the most part I evaded text heavy ones. NTSC territories dweller, but English was not my native language.
