I played 1, 3, and 4, but I only enjoyed 3. I thought the first one was ok, but I found the fourth one tiring.

I've never played the second one, but they say it's the worst. I have to give it a chance. I like a lot of games that they say are bad, like Dark Souls II.

DmC 3 was awesome and went through all the difficulties it contained which was tough to beat! I also loved playing DmC 4 for the memories it was such a memorable game and deserves more love.

i like the first one the most. I gotta be honest about 2 because back then i didn't hate it at all. I wasn't the BOOTY PLS guy, but i could relate. 3 was awesome too.

Devil May Cry 3 and 5 are some of my favorite games of all time, I have a very strong emotional attachment to these two games.

I've never played the Reboot so I can't really comment on it. The only thing I can say is that Dante's redesign is terrible overall.

My favorite is 2nd because level design gets interesting, situations matter to experience, story is peak in the series and it's the most "real Dante experience" left to experience compared to other games.

I dislike 3rd because level design gets so dull generic stuff, and Dante turns into a cringe teen. TBH whole game is unnecessary.

4th and 5th ruined the series for me because you can't mostly play as Dante when Dante is the reason for fun. Metal Gear Solid 2 BS in modern sense lol. At least 4th game is not boring as 5th, and being forced to play as V in 5th is most boring shit ever happened to video game industry in the context of "you are forced to play as some side character instead of the main character you bought the game for to play as" BS. And you can play as Dante for like 1 hour. IDK what genius thought this should be the way the series should be since 4th game. And then they made Dante a part of A-Team, or Scooby-Doo in 5th game. They even have a van they hang out in. My dude do you release the game for kids pre-90s? Man, IDK what you smoking. Do you smoke your cocaine with pizza after folding it like a burrito? They forget to change the name of the series "Scooby-Doo May Cry 5" ayyy lmao.

After 2nd game only decent DMC game they released is DmC: Devil May Cry. They fixed how Dante should've been in 3rd game and from now on if he had to turn into a non-serious character lol. When people dislike DmC: Devil May Cry because it's a bad "reboot" but people like the new DMC series that is rebooted with so many change in Dante and how series was with 3rd game, reboot fans disliking another reboot DmC: Devil May Cry is what I call a BS irony. This is literally a better character here. I guess they disliked his hair is not white anymore like it would matter anyway. At least he is not a cringe teen but a "wild" person as how probably Dante would be when he was young.

DMC3 is goated, DMCV is amazing, DMC1 is alright, if a bit clunky and archaic, and I never really finished DMC4 but I enjoyed what I did. It just is, like someone else here in the thread mentioned, a bit tiring. The stages take a bit too long for the formula of the game.

I finished DMCV several times when it released, and I keep coming back to DMC3, there's amazing mods for it on PC, particularly the recent Crimson modpack, highly recommend you try it.

My list is just about the same as everyone else's, but I will say that I put 4 a little above most people. It probably helps that it was the second game in the series I played almost directly after playing 3 as I got into the series late, but I can't deny that it's a little rough around the edges; but it was also literally unfinished so it makes sense. The famous 'backtracking for half the game' thing aside, it had some cool shit in it, like Lucifer and playable Trish and Lady in the PS4 era re-release. I kind of prefer 4Nero to 5Nero honestly, he felt much simpler and I wasn't blown away by 5s swappable arms. 90% of the time I'd just use Gerbera or Tomboy and never felt like I had to use anything else, save for the drill on like 2 specific enemies.

All that being said, I think 5 is my personal favourite overall (mainly for the best playable Dante) then 3, then 4.

However anyone would be like "WTF" when Dante's character twisted in 180 degree in 3rd game. If first DMC game you played was DMC 3 or if you have a thing for that nonsense character then IDK should I call it "trolling DMC series"? lol

If gameplay was the only factor I would like DMC 5 the most but only Dante's gameplay but games are beyond their gameplay... so yeah lol.
