I know, sounds crazy, trusting someone you don't even know anything about! Yet I'm sure many of you have played countless games that gave you this immense feeling of trust over their quality of games. So what developers you see their name and you immediatly know the game is in safe hands? Mine are: Vanillaware, Level-5 and Capcom (yes, even recent years Capcom).

Momodora’s dev always seemed like a really chill dude. Constantly interacted with the community in Steam support communities and was basically one guy at the time. Always had a distant admiration for him.

Supergiant Games:
The makers of Bastion, Transistor, Pyre and Hades
Also Capcom, mostly Atlus/Sega and Inti Creates (Cannot wait to play Gal Guardians servants of the dark)

I'll second M2! Probably the single most competent dev studio out there. Premium stuff.

Aside from that... recent years have eroded my trust for most devs I used to be a fan of tbh. There're still a couple indie devs I'd buy anything from though.

Derek Yu and/or mossmouth haven't made a single thing I didn't love as yet.
David Szymanski's games have a tone to them that makes me like them all, even if some (like Pony Factory for example) aren't my kinda thing.

Oh and they're not a dev studio, but I'll generally check out anything that's put out by New Blood as well, if that counts.

i simply cant find the will in me to really trust any specific studio or team because anyone can and everyone has fucked up at one point or another but if we lower the bar to just "studio that will always deliver a technically sound major new release" then i guess um... capcom? IDK

Like a previous user stated, Capcom and Vanillaware. Others for me would also be Koei tecmo, and Team Ninja.

Fair enough, I guess the question could also mean "Studios that has fucked up less" or "Studios that made the most games I like". I legit can't find a flaw on Vanillaware, Capcom and Level-5 oh yeah, they messed up hard in many places, but Vanillaware seems like the perfect child, they just make good ass games.

I tend to trust more on the people making the games rather than the companies themselves. Also Capcom lost me when they started to go after modders and striking them on youtube.
But yeah, I'd be indifferent to the recent Okami announcement, but since Kamiya is working on it I'm a little bit interested.

Vanillaware rocks and I adore most of their games for sure, but then there is GrimGrimoire - that one never worked for me. That said, their visual style alone is definitely always worth checking out.

now it's getting muddled, if I don't like the game doesn't mean I don't trust them. They aren't making games for ME, but I trust they can make something that I could potentially like.

Oh yeah, I played almost the entire catalogue of their games, except GrimmGrimoire, I can't stand RTSs and this game is no different.

Lately Capcom.
Always, Supergiant Games, they don't miss.
I always had fun with Genki games, even their worst ones, same with Codemasters.

I'll chip in and name two:

Yacht Club Games (Shovel Knight)
Subset Games (FTL, Into the Breach)

The output of these two isn't constant but the quality is always up there.

Same here (about rts, I played FF12 revenant wings on ds, but with the stylus it was different to give orders to the troops)
