So, I've played a couple of versions of Baroque, and while I'm told the Saturn Version is the best, and I gotta say, visually, absolutely. It also kinda plays like a Kings Field game that you can't look up or down in. The Wii version and PS2 version kinda waterdown the visuals and make the game 3rd person. Haven't tried the PSX version however. Your thoughts?

I liked a lot the saturn version, still have to finish the ps2 one thou, but i think saturn is the best for the original experience of the game, while the ps2 version is good for the extra stuff added and can be a good reason to replay the game after finishing the saturn version to have a different view on the plot being it more narrative driven than the saturn one.

Oh man, I haven't thought about Baroque in forever. I'd probably have to agree that the Saturn version is the definitive edition, I'd say the ps1 version is a very close second, if you ask me. Visually and gameplay wise, it's basically identical to the saturn version with a couple quality of life additions and a scene gallery but they also extended the tower with a bunch of extra floors, if I remember correctly.

I like the Saturn version for the atmosphere and tone, it's moody as hell. Haven't played the psx version but I did play it on the wii, the remake is different for sure but I still enjoyed it for what it is. I wouldn't consider the ps2/wii version to be bad at all, just more of a brighter arcade feel.

the saturn version is the best vesion because of good visual quality. very great soundrack
and the atmosphere

the ps2 version is second best since it add more storie line more floor in tower. better gameplay
and other things they did add to the game
the only bad thing in the ps2 is the small change in soundtrack and some visual changes

My first exposure to baroque was that overlocalized ps2 version but on the Wii, fast forward a number of years later and I got my hands on the ps1 version with the fan translation…it was good, I really loved the change in tone…
Not even a month or two later from there the Saturn gets its patch, while it’s the same game I’ve been told it’s harder…I forget how tho.
But if you were to ask me which one I liked better…I’d have to side with the Saturn port, not just for the difficulty (if that was the change) but for the aesthetic it brings in comparison
