Looks a lot like Slam Dunk.

Not at all, Dear Boys is probably one of the best sport manga I've read. Unlike other sport mangas it's grounded and focuses on players and their day to day tribulations, it deals with psychological aspects like the pressure people often exert on players, getting back on the righ track for those who went astray, etc~.

The matches are realistic unlike Slam Dunk where Hanamichi is simply physically gifted and definitely unlike Kuroko no basket where the GoM had almost supernatural skills~.

Unfortunately neither of the three arcs (Act I, II and III) were ever translated / fantraslated. Which is a shame because, really, it's a great manga~.

It's based on a manga too that has a ton of volumes and is still going to this day. Supposedly there's more romance and it's less hot-blooded compared to Slam Dunk.
